Dr. Deepa Lavangare, Deputy CMO (TE–Public Health), was the Chief Guest. Present on the occasion  were Mr. T. B. Toppo, DGM (CSR), Mr. Rajeew S Bara, DGM (CSR), Mr. Bicha Minz, Sarpanch ( Bhalulata GP),  Ms. Sunita Minz, Panchayat Samiti Member and several other village elders and local leaders.

Addressing the gathering, Dr. Lavangare highlighted the importance of cleanliness and hygiene under the Swachhata initiative and emphasized the need for collective action to prevent vector-borne diseases such as malaria and dengue. She also spoke about the positive impact of cleanliness on overall health and well-being.

A lively street play on cleanliness and hygiene was presented by the Sagar Dance Troupe, which added colour and energy to the event. Through their engaging performance, the artists creatively conveyed important messages on waste management, cleanliness, personal hygiene, harmful effects of open defecation and single-use plastic.

The event was jointly coordinated by Mr. Gandharva Nayak and Mr. B Ekka, the Section Officers of CSR Department in association with the local Sarpanch and the Station Master.

Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR) inaugurated the facility and dedicated it for the service of the people on 21^st January 2025. Present on the occasion were Mr. B K Jojo, CGM (Town Engineering & Horticulture), Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM In-charge (CSR), Mr. Bivabasu Mallick, GM (CSR), Mr. T B Toppo, AGM (CSR), and Mr. A N Pati, AGM (CSR). Community leaders such as Mr. Bicha Minz, Sarpanch of Bhalulata and Ms. Sunita Minz, Zilla Parishad Member were also present on the occasion. The inauguration ceremony was attended by large gathering of villagers who were eagerly awaiting for the facility.

The crematorium, built at a cost of Rs. 18 lakhs, features a concrete-roof platform for burning pyres, an open rest area equipped with benches, and ghats near the river to facilitate the performance of last rites and rituals. This facility will benefit the residents of 14 Panchayats in Bisra Block, providing an essential infrastructure for the community.

The crematorium addresses a long felt need of the local populace, especially in rural areas where proper facilities for last rites are lacking. By improving the living standards and infrastructure in the region, RSP has contributed to the overall socio-economic development of the area, which will support the company’s standing as a responsible corporate citizen.
