CHARLOTTE, N.C., OCT. 8, 2025 – Honeywell (NASDAQ: HON) today announced a global strategic collaboration with LS ELECTRIC (KRX:010120) to jointly develop and market hardware and software solutions that simplify the power management and distribution for data centers and other building operators, helping improve operational efficiency and resiliency.

By combining LS ELECTRIC’s deep expertise in power systems with Honeywell’s leadership in building automation and controls, data center operators will be able to seamlessly integrate critical power distribution with broader building management functions, such as ensuring load is aligned to capacity, to improve resiliency.

The two companies will begin by selling joint products, offering data center operators integrated switchgear and power management to control and distribute the power that helps keep critical systems running without interruption. The partnership anticipates developing new electrical power monitoring systems based on Honeywell Forge, a platform with AI functions, and LS ELECTRIC’s expertise and software capabilities. The resulting systems are being designed to intelligently regulate energy distribution and consumption while also leveraging AI-driven predictive maintenance to help identify potential issues early to reduce power quality issues and costly downtime.

Beyond power management and controls integration, the companies will also collaborate on a new grid and building-aware battery energy storage system (BESS) for commercial and industrial buildings. To meet the increasing load on the grid, the end-to-end solution will create microgrids in critical buildings and industrial facilities, offering a practical alternative to help improve resiliency and manage demand. This new modular BESS solution plans to integrate LS ELECTRIC’s energy storage capabilities with Honeywell’s dynamic energy control software to help forecast the best source and cost based on utility data, weather and other risks.

Data centers currently consume 1-2% of global electricity production, and that is expected to grow dramatically. With this partnership, Honeywell will be a one-stop supplier for building automation controls and power and electrical products, allowing data centers to be more efficient with energy use and storage.

Bengaluru, 7^th April, 2025 – Tata Power, India’s largest integrated power company and a trusted electricity provider to approx. 8 lakh residential and commercial consumers, has received approval from the Maharashtra Electricity Regulatory Commission (MERC) to install a 100 MW Battery Energy Storage System (BESS) in Mumbai over the next two years.

The cutting-edge BESS, equipped with advanced ‘black start’ functionality, will enable a swift recovery of power supply to critical infrastructure, including the metro, hospitals, Airport, and Data Centers, in case of grid disturbances. This will prevent large-scale blackouts and enhance Mumbai’s power network resilience. Additionally, the system’s sophisticated technology will optimize reactive power management, improving peak demand efficiency and strengthening the city’s power infrastructure.

With high ramp-rate capability, the BESS will facilitate peak load management, ensuring a stable and balanced power supply even during high-demand periods. It will also help reduce power purchase costs by storing energy during low-cost periods and utilizing it during high-cost peak hours thereby ensuring reduced tariffs for consumers in the future. Furthermore, the BESS will support capital expenditure (capex) deferral by minimizing the need for costly infrastructure upgrades and efficiently managing load fluctuations with stored energy.

Beyond enhancing grid reliability, the BESS will offer ancillary services, including frequency regulation and voltage support, further strengthening grid stability. It will also enable better utilization of solar energy by storing surplus daytime power and making it available during peak demand, ensuring optimal renewable energy integration with an increase in Green Energy consumption. Additionally, Tata Power’s BESS deployment will also fulfil energy storage Obligations.

The entire 100 MW system will be installed across 10 strategically located sites, especially near load centres across Mumbai Distribution, centrally monitored and controlled from Tata Power’s Power System Control Center (PSCC).

Future plans include the integration of BESS into the Distributed Energy Resource Management System (DERMS) to enhance operational efficiency. Tata Power remains committed to “Safety First”, incorporating three layers of temperature monitoring and fire suppression systems at the cell, module, and rack levels within the BESS. The system will have high round-trip efficiency with reduced auxiliary consumption, thereby enhancing operational performance and extending the storage system’s lifespan to support Mumbai’s energy sustainability goals.

As renewable energy adoption accelerates, BESS plays a pivotal role in enabling a smoother transition. Compared to conventional alternatives, BESS offers a more cost-effective, faster-to-deploy solution with a shorter gestation period, making it a key enabler of clean energy adoption.
