Dr Komal Kapoor assumed charge of CMD & Director (Technical), ECIL

NEW DELHI. Dr. Komal Kapoor, Chief Executive, Nuclear Fuel Complex (NFC)has assumed the position of CMD and Director (Technical) of Electronics Corporation of India Limited (ECIL). Dr. Kapoor is a Distinguished Scientist and a Metallurgical Engineer, who joined the 33rdbatch of BARC Training School, Mumbai in 1989.

Subsequently, he was posted to NFC and served in various capacities for more than three decades.As Head of the three Nuclear Fuel Cycle Facilities, Dr. Kapoor is contributing significantly to the Indian Nuclear Power Program. He is responsible for setting up a large Greenfield Project at Kota, Rajasthan to meet the fuel requirements of upcoming Reactors in the Country.

Dr. Kapoor possesses extensive knowledge of nuclear fuel cycles and materials. His initiatives have resulted in improvement of quality standards and fuel performance in Nuclear Reactors and also consistent improvements of radiological safety.

A. Suresh Babu assumes charge as CMD of BHAVINI Limited

MUMBAI: Shri P. A. Suresh Babu, a senior scientist from the Department of Atomic Energy, has taken charge as Chairman and Managing Director of BHAVINI Limited, which operates India’s 500 MW Prototype Fast Breeder Reactor at Kalpakkam. He also serves as Director (HR) at Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited and has over 37 years of experience in the nuclear sector.

He has contributed significantly to the development of pressurised heavy water and pressurised water reactors in India. A mechanical engineering graduate from Government Engineering College, Thrissur, he joined BARC Training School in 1989 and worked at Madras Atomic Power Station for 14 years. He later held key roles at the Kudankulam Nuclear Power Project, including Station Director.

In February 2022, he was appointed Director at Nuclear Power Corporation of India Limited, a role he held until this appointment. His tenure as CMD of BHAVINI Limited will be for three years.
