Bengaluru, 01^st July 2025: Ather Energy Limited, India’s leading electric two-heeler company, has expanded its Rizta family scooter line-up with the launch of the new Rizta S with a 3.7kWh battery pack. The latest addition delivers an IDC range of 159 km, making it an ideal choice for daily commuters looking for more range at a compelling price point, without compromising on the comfort, quality, and reliability that the Rizta is known for.

The Rizta line was launched in 2024 as Ather’s first family scooter, designed around everyday ease of use, storage, and safety. The Rizta now accounts for over 60% of Ather’s total sales and recently crossed the 1 lakh units milestone within a year of launch. The new 3.7kWh variant further strengthens the Rizta portfolio, giving families more choice when it comes to range and affordability. With this launch, the Rizta lineup now offers four variants, making it one of the most convenient, smart and safe scooters in the EV segment.

Despite the larger battery, the new variant retains all the convenience features that define the Rizta experience. The spacious 34-litre underseat storage easily accommodates daily essentials and is expandable by 22 liters with the addition of Frunk. For convenience and safety, the scooter has AutoHold^TM, Fall Safe, Emergency Stop Signal, Tow & Theft Alerts, Find my scooter, and Alexa Skills. The

3.7kWh variant will also be able to receive OTA updates. The scooter comes with access to Ather’s comprehensive fast-charging network, the Ather Grid, which now spans over 3900+ charging points across the country. For home charging, the variant includes Ather’s efficient charging solution, ensuring convenient overnight charging for daily use.

Comprehensive Ownership Support

Like all Ather scooters, the Rizta S with 3.7kWh battery pack variant comes with the option of Ather’s comprehensive warranty programme, ‘Ather Eight70’, that provides a comprehensive 8-year or 80,000 km (whichever comes first) warranty that guarantees a minimum 70% battery health over the ownership period. The scooter is supported by Ather’s network of experience centres across the country, where customers can test ride, purchase, and receive after-sales service.

Availability and Booking

Bookings for the Rizta S with 3.7kWh battery pack are now open across India through Ather’s retail network and online platform. Deliveries are expected to commence this month, with the company scaling production to meet anticipated demand.

~ Rizta has accounted for around 60% of Ather’s total sales volume, following its launch last year 

Bengaluru, 3rd June 2025: Ather Energy Limited, India’s leading electric two-wheeler manufacturer, announced that its family scooter, the Rizta, has crossed the 1 lakh unit retail sales milestone within a year of its launch. The Rizta has received a strong response from family scooter buyers across India, since its unveiling in April 2024, contributing to significant growth in Ather’s market share.

Commenting on this milestone, Ravneet Phokela, Chief Business Officer, Ather Energy said,  “Hitting the 1 lakh milestone with the Rizta is a big moment for us. The Rizta, which was built from the ground up with a focus on addressing the needs of Indian families, has played a key role in expanding our reach and connecting with a much wider set of customers. It combines practically everything a family scooter needs: a spacious and comfortable seat, ample storage, safety features, and reliability to make everyday commuting effortless; all that packaged in great design that Ather has come to be known for. Rizta, Ather’s first family scooter, expanded Ather’s product portfolio and played a key role in catering to a much larger consumer segment in the country. Since scaling up deliveries in Q2 FY25, Ather’s market share has seen a significant increase across key states including Gujarat, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Madhya Pradesh, Odisha, and Chhattisgarh. Post its launch, Rizta has become the preferred choice for most buyers, accounting for around 60% of total sales to date. Its popularity is driven by a strong feature set that balances everyday utility with smart technology and comfort. Moreover, the Rizta along with the Ather 450 series has enabled Ather to become the #1 brand in South India in Q4FY25, as per Vahan data.

To enhance the ride comfort, the Rizta comes with a host of features such as 56L under-seat storage, a wide and comfortable seat, and a spacious floorboard in addition to several safety and connected features. SkidControl^TM, which was introduced on the Rizta, is a traction control system that manages motor torque to prevent loss of traction on low-friction surfaces like gravel, sand, water, or oil. Other safety features include the Tow & Theft Alert, which notifies the owner about any unauthorised movement of their scooters and the Emergency Stop System which flashes the tail light rapidly to indicate to the vehicle behind that you’re coming to a sudden halt. In addition, the software enabled ‘Live Location Sharing’ which is a part of the AtherStack 6, allows riders to share their location with a preset contact in just a few clicks and enhances the safety of riders in emergency situations. The Rizta also comes with Google Maps on the dashboard for easy navigation.

The Rizta was first unveiled at the Ather Community Day in April 2024 and retails began from June 2024 across the country.

The new service centre in Trivandrum has 7 service bays and has modified workbenches with surfaces for component protection and built-in power sockets and lights to facilitate improved diagnostics. In addition, the implementation of a job card tracking system has been done to further enhance workflow efficiency and reduce delays. The service centre also boasts a final inspection bay to ensure quality of service before being delivered to customers. Additionally, it has a relatively elaborate reception and a lounge for customers to wait in while their vehicles are being serviced, with access to Wi-fi and coffee. ExpressCare service, which enables customers to complete periodic maintenance within 60 minutes, will also be available at the service centre.

We are now excited to announce the opening of our first Ather Gold service centre, which has been built from scratch as per the new standards, in Trivandrum. We have thus introduced Ather Gold service centres with modified workbenches, the implementation of systems like the Kanban-based job tracking system, along with comfortable customer lounges to improve our efficiency and the overall customer experience.” 

Over the years, Ather has introduced various initiatives like the Ather Care service plans, Ather service carnival offers and ExpressCare to make the service experience for its customers hassle-free. As of 31st December 2024, Ather Energy has 234 service centres across 203 cities in India.

Ather has two distinct lines of scooters – the Ather 450 and the Rizta that cater to the performance and family segments respectively. Ather currently has 2 manufacturing plants in Hosur, Tamil Nadu, one each for vehicle assembly and battery manufacturing and an upcoming third manufacturing facility in Bidkin, AURIC, Chhatrapati Sambhaji Nagar, Maharashtra.
