Bengaluru, 11 July 2025 : Atal Incubation Centre, BIMTECH (Birla Institute of Management Technology (AIC‑BIMTECH) hosted the Google AI Day for Startups, a flagship event under the India-wide initiative by Google for Startups. Held at the BIMTECH campus in Greater Noida, the event was designed to empower early-stage founders through powerpack knowledge sharing sessions for startups from investment to immersive sessions on Generative AI, expert panels, hands-on learning, and meaningful networking covering more than 100 startups from across India.

Google AI Day for Startups is a multi-format, full day workshop series organized by Google for Startups in collaboration with ecosystem partners across India. These events aimed to equip early-stage founders with the knowledge, technical expertise, and networks required to build with Generative AI and scale their solutions effectively.

The event featured keynotes and panels by Google AI experts, VCs, and founders, offering insights into key Generative AI trends such as AI agents, multimodal systems, and commercialization, with a focus on scaling real world solutions. The day commenced with a high impact panel discussion titled “AI’s Next Wave: Agents, Multimodal, and Monetization,” featuring prominent industry leaders including Mr. Alok Shankar Pandey, Group General Manager, DFCCIL; Mr. Amit Singal, Partner, Fluid Ventures; and Ms. Noor Fatma, Founder, Easiofy. The panel moderated by Mahesh Prajapati, (Founder

– BigDot.ai) stressed on the role of India’s startups in driving AI-led innovation for the next billion users.

Creating a Strategic Impact, Enisha Kalita, Program Manager Google introduced the Google for Startups programs covering all initiatives to the startups that help early-stage ventures with mentorship, cloud credits, and go-to-market strategy. The event encouraged meaningful conversations, idea validation, and opened doors for future investment by showcasing how AI can be rapidly prototyped into impactful solutions by startups. Over 100 startup founders, developers, investors, and Google engineers came together for a hands-on day of AI exploration and collaboration. Startups dove into codelabs and live demos, working with advanced tools like Gemini 2.5, Gemma 3.0, Vertex AI, and AI Studio to bring real-world ideas to life.

With India’s rapidly growing startup ecosystem and Bhutan’s aspirations to emulate similar success, this partnership promises mutual growth and long-term impact. The Bhutanese delegation, led by Kunzang Lhamu, Director General of Employment and Entrepreneurship, Royal Government of Bhutan, expressed keen interest in AIC-BIMTECH’s structured incubation programs, such as Khoj, Prarambh, Gurukul, and Udaan.  The Discussions covered the potential for long-term mentorship agreements and sector-specific collaborations with India’s Centers of Excellence.

Additionally, the visit also throw light on how Bhutan is considering policy reforms drawing from India’s revolutionary startup ecosystem, specifically models such as Startup India and the Samridh Scheme. The Bhutanese delegation is interested in adopting these models to develop a entrepreneurial environment in Bhutan with an emphasis on mentorship, funding, and industry-specific partnerships. 

Following the visit, Dr. Prabina Rajib; Director; BIMTECH, stated, “This visit is a vision shared by both countries to empower entrepreneurs and develop strong, sustainable ecosystems that can flourish across borders. We are confident that this partnership will open the door for Bhutan to develop its own vibrant startup ecosystem, drawing inspiration from India’s inspiring journey.”

A follow-up is planned after six to twelve months to monitor measurable indicators like funds raised, startup development, and policy frameworks that favor entrepreneurship in Bhutan. This follow-up will incorporate the development of incubation centers in Bhutan to foster talent developed within and create a booming startup culture competitive at the world level.

BIMTECH’s partnership with Bhutan promises to be a turning point in South Asian cross-border entrepreneurship, providing new opportunities for joint development, knowledge exchange, and the creation of robust, sustainable startup ecosystems throughout the region.
