<p>The Minister appreciated ADB’s collaboration in developing knowledge frameworks aligned with the priorities outlined in the Union Budget 2025–26. The Fund envisions cities as Growth Hubs, serving as blueprints for transforming water, sanitation, and waste services.</p>
<p>The Minister also expressed interest in ADB initiating demonstration projects that could serve as lighthouse models for future urban development.</p>

										<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p><strong>Bengaluru, 21<sup>st </sup>November, 2024:</strong> Tata Power, one of India’s leading integrated power companies, and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) coinciding with the ongoing Climate Conference (COP29) at Baku, Azerbaijan, to evaluate financing for its several strategic projects aimed at enhancing India’s power infrastructure and promoting renewable and clean energy.</p>
<p>The MoU outlines the evaluation of financing for several key ongoing projects such as the 966 MW Solar Wind Hybrid project and Pumped Hydro Storage Project and other projects in the pipeline around energy transition, decarbonization, and battery storage as well as ongoing financing for capex towards strengthening the distribution networks managed by Tata Power.</p>
<p>The total estimated project cost is approximately US $4.25 billion.</p>

<p>The signatories will also work to build resilience, promote inclusiveness, and specifically focus on integrating gender and climate actions to empower women as economic and transformative agents in deploying green technologies and accessing green jobs.</p>
<p>ADB Director General for Private Sector Operations Suzanne Gaboury said, “ADB is committed to fostering partnerships that promote sustainability and energy security across Asia and the Pacific. As part of this strategy, our engagement with Tata Power reflects a shared vision for a low-carbon, inclusive, and climate-resilient future, supporting India’s transition toward sustainable energy solutions.”</p>
<p>This partnership between Tata Power and ADB is pivotal as India accelerates its journey toward achieving its renewable energy target of 500 GW by 2030. The projects under evaluation, such as the large-scale solar-wind hybrid systems and advanced hydro storage solutions, signify an investment in the future of India’s clean energy infrastructure. Through initiatives like these, Tata Power aims to strengthen the nation’s capacity for renewable energy, reduce dependency on fossil fuels, and foster a sustainable, energy-secure future.</p>
<p>This MoU signals a concerted effort to align with global climate action goals while addressing India&#8217;s unique energy needs. <p><strong>New Delhi, 30<sup>th</sup> November 2023:</strong> IIFL Home Finance Ltd., India’s fastest-growing digital first home finance company, and Asian Development Bank (ADB) jointly hosted the 15<sup>th</sup> Chapter of ‘Kutumb’ event and 10<sup>th</sup> in series with ADB in Delhi, with a primary focus on fostering discussions centred on bolstering the green building ecosystem within India&#8217;s affordable housing sector. Moreover, their partnership through the Technical Assistance (TA) program is geared towards enhancing the sustainability of green construction practices within the affordable housing segment in India.</p>
<p>IIFL Home Finance Ltd. and the Asian Development Bank (ADB) joined forces for a Technical Assistance (TA) initiative named ‘Enabling the ecosystem to improve access to green affordable housing for women’. This program seamlessly integrates promotion, capacity building, and research and innovation, addressing key areas such as green building, affordable housing, and women&#8217;s housing access in India.</p>
<p>The Kutumb event focused on insights based on promoting and advancing Green Affordable Housing in India, aiming to create opportunities for accessible green housing for everyone. Previously, under the ADB initiative, the Kutumb event successfully took place in numerous metropolises like Kolkata, Bangalore, Ahmedabad, Hyderabad, and Pune. This marks the 10th collaboration between IIFL Home Finance Ltd. and the ADB for the Kutumb initiative, following nine successful editions. The earlier nine Kutumb events garnered an excellent response with over 1,500 participants, featuring a community of 900+ developers, and conducted 36+ expert sessions. The Kutumb event made a substantial impact, contributing significantly to the transformation from the mission of &#8216;Housing for All&#8217; to &#8216;Green Housing for All&#8217;. Developers, policymakers, architects, academicians, green rating agencies, and financial institutions join forces in this collective vision. Through nurturing this collaborative ecosystem, IIFL Home Finance Ltd. actively contribute to ushering in transformative change and advancing the expansion of affordable green housing nationwide. This also played a pivotal role in raising awareness among the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Low-Income Group (LIG) categories in India through the &#8220;Resilient and Green Affordable Housing&#8221; project. Moreover, this event facilitated increased awareness within the developer community regarding affordable green housing, educating them about green design, rating systems, and available financing options.</p>
