The trailer of Akshay Kumar’s horror-comedy Laxmmi Bomb released on Friday and it is a complete laugh riot. Going by the trailer, it can be said that the film that also stars Kiara Advani, Ayesha Raza and Rajesh Sharma, is a perfect blend of comedy, suspense and thriller. Kiara Advani plays the role of Akshay Kumar’s wife in the film. The trailer starts with Akshay declaring, “Jis din sach mein mere samne bhut aayy na toh maa kasam chudiya pehen lunga.” After a dance sequence of Akshay and Kiara, the duo can be seen entering her parents’ (played by Ayesha Raza and Rajesh Sharma) house. What follows next are rib-tickling scenes of Akshay making the lives of the family members hard after being possessed by a ghost – not just any ghost but a transgender ghost.

The brutal incident of animal abuse took place in Kerala’s Palakkad district, which resulted in the death of the elephant while standing in the river.

The pachyderm in Kerala’s Silent Valley Forest fell victim to an act of human cruelty after the pineapple offered by a man exploded in her mouth when she chomped on it, a senior forest officer said. Her jaw was broken and she was unable to eat after she chewed the pineapple and it exploded in her mouth.

Officer Surendrakumar said the elephant died at Velliyar River in Malappuram district on May 27. He said the post-mortem revealed that the pachyderm was pregnant.

“Rahul Gandhi is from that area, why has he not taken action?” questioned Maneka Gandhi on Wednesday.

The Congress scion represents the constituency of Wayanad, which is adjoining the district of Malappuram.

The film has made Rs 190 crore in India, after 18 days of release. It marked Akshay Kumar’s fourth film of the year to hit the Rs 100 crore mark at the box office, following Kesari, Mission Mangal and Housefull 4. The actor will next be seen in the action thriller Sooryavanshi, which is the latest instalment in director Rohit Shetty’s cop universe, whose previous instalments include the two Singham films and Simmba. After that, Akshay will appear in the horror comedy Laxxmi Bomb and then in Prithviraj.

Good Newwz received positive reviews from critics as well, who praised the mix of humour and emotions. Akshay Kumar and Kareena Kapoor’s new film Good Newwz wrapped 2019 on a good note and began the New Year on an even better one. In six days, the comedy has soared past the Rs 100 crore mark, scoring Rs 117 at the box office, said trade analyst Taran Adarsh.

On the New Year holiday on Wednesday, Good Newwz raked in as much as Rs 22 crore, pushing the total to an impressive figure. The film had made almost Rs 50 crore over the weekend. “Good Newwz is 100 not out… Hits the ball out of the park on Day 6… Ends 2019 with ‘good newwz‘… Begins 2020 with ‘good newwz‘… Fri 17.56 cr, Sat 21.78 cr, Sun 25.65 cr, Mon 13.41 cr, Tue 16.20 cr, Wed 22.50 cr.
