· Nearly 8 in 10 Indian CFOs see Generative AI as key to risk mitigation and smarter treasury operations.

· Capital cost optimisation and FX stability emerge as top CFO priorities to future-proof growth.

Bengaluru, 03 September 2025 – Companies are starting to plan for the long-term effects of a shifting global landscape, even as they brace for continued rate volatility and potential supply chain reconfigurations in the near term. A new DBS report titled New Realities, New Possibilities surveyed 800 finance leaders, including Chief Financial Officers (CFOs) and corporate treasurers, across seven sectors and 14 markets (including 80 from India), showing that businesses are recalibrating their long-term strategies to strengthen financial resilience over the next five years.

To better understand how finance leaders were steering their organisations amidst immediate-term developments, respondents were surveyed in two batches – before and after US trade tariff announcements in April. Findings showed that leveraging data-driven financial intelligence to strengthen decision-making remained a top priority for companies over the next five years, with respondents drawn to data visualisation and security monitoring tools to enhance treasury and finance functions. These tools help leaders navigate uncertainty more effectively with sharper sense-making and better threat anticipation, enabling more accurate cash flow forecasting and proactive capital strategies.

Key findings: India

· About 79% of Indian CFOs and treasurers believe that Generative AI and AI-powered tools will help risk mitigation and enhance treasury operations.

· In India, 80% of businesses affirmed that sustainable trade finance solutions such as green bonds and ESG-linked loans will support green initiatives and compliance with green standards. India’s ESG debt market itself had reached ~USD 56 billion in cumulative Green, Social and Sustainability (GSS) issuance by end-2024, reflecting strong investor appetite.

· Capital cost optimisation is a high priority for more than two-thirds of Indian businesses, who are proactively strengthening their capital structures to support expansion and financial agility. Bank partners play a critical role in assessing capital mix, identifying refinancing opportunities, and optimising funding costs to ensure long-term financial resilience.

· Liquidity and FX management has become the second-highest priority for India’s CFOs, highlighting the focus on financial stability and preparedness for long-term growth.

Divyesh Dalal, Managing Director and Country Head – Global Transaction Services, Corporate Banking – Financial Institutions and SMEs, DBS Bank India, said “The new reality is increasingly being defined by uncertainty, and within this context a discernible shift is underway for treasury and finance leaders who are not only strategic enablers for their companies, but also managers of business risk. These leaders are assuming enhanced responsibilities as they step up to guide business diversification and linked capital allocation, along with building resilient supply chains while keeping their overall institutional ESG principles in mind. This shift has made the role of a trusted banking partner even more critical as companies look for decision-making support to steer transformation and enable long-term resilience. As a leading Asian transaction bank, DBS is glad to play this role and aid organisational growth during one of the biggest trade re-alignments of our time.”

Santanu Mitra, Managing Director & Country Head – Corporate Banking (Large and Midcap), DBS Bank India, added “Businesses are grappling with the confluence of several larger trends which are accelerating simultaneously – the ubiquity of AI, climate change, geopolitical uncertainty and evolving trade complexities. As financial strategists, the treasury function is proactively looking to modernise as it integrates multiple agendas to unlock smarter, more sustainable growth. DBS works closely with our clients, going beyond banking to support them with advisory and customised solutions, backed by our strong Asian connectivity and advanced digitalisation. This report, New Realities, New Possibilities, is aimed at providing meaningful, future-focused insights to increase competitiveness in a rapidly changing macroeconomic environment.”

The survey also assessed how effectively Indian companies are delivering on treasury priorities using DBS’ Strategic Effectiveness Indicator (SEI). This score reflects self-assessed effectiveness across seven dimensions: data-driven intelligence, treasury operations, capital optimisation, working capital, liquidity and FX management, green initiatives, and supply chain reconfiguration. Developed by DBS with EY, the SEI converts CFO and treasurer ratings into an aggregate score, offering a snapshot of strategic effectiveness. The SEI demonstrated that globally most CFOs and treasurers assess themselves to be strategically effective about 64% of the time, while for India, the score stood at about 68.

New Realities, New Possibilities is the third iteration of DBS’ ongoing thought leadership series tailored for treasury and finance professionals and builds on the findings of earlier reports. Each report aims to give finance leaders a deeper understanding of the evolving demands on treasury and finance teams, and how companies might capture opportunities amid these shifts.

Accountants can thrive in an artificial intelligence-dominated workplace just as they have done in other tech revolutions

Bengaluru, July 14, 2025: AI will reshape the accountancy profession by changing how tasks are completed at all levels. Leading global accountancy body, ACCA (the Association of Chartered Certified Accountants) says that as AI becomes more commonplace, new responsibilities and tasks will emerge for finance teams as they focus on improving controls and specifying the desired information outcomes from machine use.

New roles are also expected to support activities ensuring AI systems remain accurate and compliant with professional standards and regulations.

ACCA’s latest AI Monitor report explores how the gradual integration of AI over comings years is likely to change how accountants work and deliver value from the automation of repetitive tasks to increased knowledge support for decision making. The report points out that while AI can help make processes more efficient, human intervention needs to be retained at critical junctures. Ultimately, the integration of AI needs to reflect the fact that trust remains a fundamentally social concept built on human interaction, transparency, and oversight. And the future of accounting will involve navigating tensions between efficiency and human judgement, automation and control.

Md. Sajid Khan, Director – India at ACCA, said: ‘Professionals who can embrace uncertainty, develop strong judgement skills, and continuously adapt their expertise will thrive even as specific tasks change or become automated.’

‘It should be remembered that over the decades accountancy has prospered by its intelligent and enthusiastic adoption of the latest technology.’

The report sets out four key work trends that AI will drive for accountants:

·         A contraction in routine processing;

·         An expansion in strategic and advisory decision-making;

· An evolution of mid-level roles to incorporate more judgement and client interaction; and

· New responsibilities at the intersection of accounting, technology and strategy.

The future that is unfolding isn’t one where finance and accounting professionals are replaced – but one where their responsibilities will change. Success in this transition depends on making clear assessments of where AI will add value, establishing clear policies and governance in use, and the cultivation of skills that complement technical capabilities.

ACCA expects that coming years will see organisations develop more integrated workflows based on the principle that AI adoption is not just about distinguishing high versus low-value activities – but focusing on outcomes, quality and value.

Alistair Brisbourne, Head of Technology Research, ACCA said: ‘Only a minority of finance and accounting teams have implemented AI solutions – but these resources are widely available, and organisations are reviewing opportunities and workforce needs.

‘AI adoption is expected to accelerate in coming years, especially as our data shows investment on AI initiatives is increasing, and widespread cloud adoption provides a crucial foundation for AI implementation.’

The profession is still in the invention and adoption stage of AI, as demonstrated by investment data and current adoption/usage statistics. And the profession is embracing the learning and employment challenge offered by AI as shown by the recently announced changes to the ACCA Qualification which embraces emerging advances in technology and sustainability.

The report adds that widescale use of a general-purpose technology, like AI, may take longer than anticipated.

With the increasing prevalence of AI-generated content, deepfakes—particularly nonconsensual adult material—have become a significant concern. Manipulated images and videos can cause serious harm, prompting Google to introduce a powerful new tool that allows individuals to take control and request the removal of such damaging content from search results.

Here’s a step-by-step guide on how to use this tool to remove adult deepfake content from Google Search results.

Step-by-Step Guide to Removing Adult Deepfake Content from Google Search Results

Document the Content

Take screenshots or note down the URLs of the search results showing the deepfake content. This documentation is crucial for reporting.

Check Google’s Content Removal Policies

Visit Google’s Removal Policies to understand what types of content Google will remove. Confirm that your situation falls under their policy for non-consensual explicit content.

Use Google’s Content Removal Tool

Go to the Google Content Removal Tool and select the appropriate options for reporting the non-consensual explicit content.

Fill in the required details, including URLs of the deepfake content and search results. Attach any documentation if needed.

Submit a Legal Request

If necessary, submit a legal request through Google’s Legal Removal Requests. Choose “Report a violation of your rights” and then “Non-consensual explicit imagery.”

Provide as much detail as possible to strengthen your case.

Monitor the Progress

Google will review your request, which may take some time. They may contact you for additional information. Regularly check the status of your removal request using the same tool.

Request Removal from the Hosting Site

While waiting for Google, contact the website hosting the deepfake content and request removal. Many websites have procedures for reporting non-consensual explicit content.

Set Up Alerts

To catch any future instances of deepfake content, set up Google Alerts with your name or any identifying terms so you can act quickly if similar content reappears.

Consider Legal Action

If the content is not removed, consult a lawyer who specializes in internet law for additional steps, including potential legal action against those responsible for creating or distributing the deepfake.

Review the Outcome

Once Google has processed your request, review the search results to ensure the content has been removed.

Seek Support

Dealing with such situations can be distressing. Consider seeking support from trusted friends, family, or professional counselors.

51% of surveyed industry leaders prefer a hybrid regulatory approach combining traditional frameworks with adaptive guidelines

47.3% believe that over-regulation and over-compliance if put in place, can become a deterrent to AI’s growth

67.6% of the industry believes that more PPP engagements are required in critical sectors such as health and education

78% of the industry views that accelerating the Ethical AI Ecosystem in India necessitates operational requisites like continuous skill development and training and Structural Realignment in core AI organizations

89% of the industry believes that specific regulations are essential to ensure ethical practices, accountability, and transparency in AI development and deployment

The report encompasses strategic actionable recommendations for establishing a robust framework that supports innovation while addressing the ethical challenges posed by AI. It calls for a collaborative approach between the government and the private sector to develop standards and practices that ensure AI benefits all segments of society. Additionally, the report underscores the importance of continuous learning, capacity building, voluntary product iterations and responsible adoption, and educating consumers or end-users in shaping an AI landscape that is both innovative and responsible.

“Remember that advertisement is all about making a product or a service unique. Even the best of the software like ChatGPT will never offer that uniqueness. So, do not feel discouraged by them as they often compromise the quality of the advertisements,” said Shri Vikram Sahay, Joint Secretary, Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, Government of India, while delivering his keynote address at the 19th edition of the Marketing Conclave (MarCon), organised by the Internet and Mobile Association of India (IAMAI) on November 22, 2023, in Mumbai.

This year MarCon explored, through 30 sessions, across four tracks, the theme of “Tomorrow’s Canvas: Tech and the Art of Marketing”. The conference was co-powered by Whistle Feed.

Addressing the conference’s theme topic, Shri Sahay delved into the dynamic intersection of technology and marketing, shedding light on innovative strategies to navigate the evolving landscape of digital advertising.

In his keynote Shri Sahay also dwelt on advertising regulatory practices and underlined the importance of ethical marketing. “Today, we have certain regulatory practices and guidelines that protect us from misleading ads, especially in education and healthcare. We must stay away from such unethical practices,” he said.

MarCon 2023 brought together on one platform more than 65 industry captains and subject stalwarts to explore the theme subject 360 degrees. Over 350+ agencies, 500+ leading brands and 1500 delegates took part in the conference.

Speaking on unified measurement for digital platforms, Gulshan Verma, CEO of Jio Ads explained, “Fundamentally, measurement is the backbone of business, translating into vital components such as your business metrics, engagement metrics, and sales figures. What further adds to this process is the perception of your brand. Introducing unified measurement transforms the landscape, where context makes all the difference. Online and physical touch points make it challenging to analyse or even apply unified measurement. Unification will happen if we are able to link business numbers and other tangibles to arrive at some sort of numeric unification or one scale of measurement for digital platforms.”

Talking on changing tech allowing new age marketers to connect with ‘BHARAT’, MVS Murthy, CMO Federal Bank, said, “AI does not have an emotional quotient hence it cannot be sensitive towards human emotions. Only humans can understand the subtle sensitivities of any matter. While targeting Bharat, it’s important we understand and acknowledge these nuances and think regional and vernacular first, it’s a human emotion, we think in our mother tongue and then speak in English or any other language.”

Among other prominent speakers at the conclave were Tushar Vyas, President, Group M South Asia; Gaurav Verma, Vice President, Games 24 x 7; Arun Srinivas, Director & Head of Ads Business, Meta; Ranjana Mangla, Sr VP and Head of Ad Revenue, Sony Pictures Network Ltd; Sanket Narkar, Head of Marketing, Physics Wallah, and Shoumyan Biswas, Chief Marketing Officer, Tata Digital.

Results of the second edition of the prestigious Digital Native Brands Awards (DNBA) were announced at a gala ceremony at MarCon today. This year there were over 150 entries for DNBA, which were distributed in 19 categories. The Awards celebrate and honour businesses and brands that have harnessed the power of digital technology, epitomize the spirit of digital entrepreneurship, and leverage technology as a core driver of their success. The Best DNB Woman Entrepreneur of The Year Award went to Ghazal Alagh, Honasa Consumer Pvt Ltd (Mamaearth) and the Best Digital Native Brand Entrepreneur Award was bagged by Manish Chowdhary, WOW Skin Science.

Ms Riddhi Sharma , CEO & Founder of Content Marketing Agency and noted Content Strategist for Leaders engaged in Building Project Sakhi For Women recently participated in the knowledge sharing session at Global Communication Conclave organised by the Public Relations Council of India and Public Relations Society , Delhi on ” How do you maintain the human element in the rapidly growing world of AI ” , where in Pritesh Chothani, Sanjeev Handa, Feba Varghese, and Aakansha Jain were also participated as a panelist . The panel discussion was an engaging and interactive session that provided a unique perspective on the importance of preserving the human touch in the rapidly expanding realm of AI-driven businesses.

I got to share my bit on how we are using AI for content marketing and discussed with fellow panelists on how we can use it responsibly. The idea of AI changing the speed of things resonated with most of us. However, the need for ‘responsible’ AI was felt too. The onus of the same lies on us to make sure that we do not forget our human values while building new tech and not let our biases creep into it either.

Pritesh Chothani , an inspiring business leader, and an enthusiastic person with several stories up his sleeve. Currently, he is building an amazing app – HiVoco play, which not only keeps your child engaged but also teaches them mental and emotional wellbeing. His passion for creating a safe space for kids is commendable.

Sanjeev Handa an accomplished entrepreneur who has over 27 years of expertise in marketing and communications. A gentleman and a very inspiring person – there’s a lot that I could learn from him and his illustrious career. I admire him for his humility and enjoyed our interaction before the event too.

Feba Varghese, a dynamic person with over 12 years of experience leading and directing sales teams. The revolution her company ‘Skribe’ is bringing for PR and communications is commendable. I look forward to collaborate. The first one to meet and I feel she is changing the way the business of PR is perceived in the country at the moment.

Akanksha Jain – The young and dynamic moderator of our panel is quick-witted, sharp and a perfect example of beauty with brains. Her passion is almost contagious. A fantastic speaker and super inspiring with her journey.

All the panelist discussed how even though AI has catalysed a lot of grunt work, the final touch of emotion, is at the end of the person who’s working from behind the screen.
