NEW DELHI. India has created a new Guinness World Record after securing 2,50,946 valid pledges for responsible artificial intelligence use within 24 hours during the India AI Impact Summit 2026. Announcing the achievement at Bharat Mandapam in New Delhi, Union Minister for Electronics and Information Technology Ashwini Vaishnaw said the country earned the Guinness World Records title for the “Most pledges received for an AI responsibility campaign in 24 hours.” The record was officially verified by a Guinness World Records adjudicator during the summit held between February 16 and 17.

The nationwide AI Responsibility Pledge campaign was launched under the IndiaAI Mission in collaboration with Intel India to encourage citizens to commit to ethical, inclusive and responsible AI practices. Participants engaged with scenario-based questions on data privacy, transparency, accountability and tackling misinformation, and received digital badges along with AI learning resources upon completion. Crediting Prime Minister Narendra Modi for inspiring outreach to students and educational institutions, Vaishnaw said the overwhelming participation, far surpassing the initial target of 5,000 pledges, reflects growing awareness and positions India as a leader in promoting responsible AI for social good.

NEW DELHI. The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), in partnership with the All India Society for Electronics and Computer Technology (AISECT), has launched the ‘Kaushal Rath’—a mobile Artificial Intelligence awareness initiative under the National AI Literacy programme, Yuva AI for All. Flagged off from India Gate by Union Minister of State for Commerce & Industry and Electronics & IT Jitin Prasada, the fully equipped mobile unit functions as a digital classroom with internet-enabled computers, audio-visual tools and structured AI training modules. It will travel to schools, colleges, Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) and community spaces, particularly in semi-urban and underserved regions, to provide hands-on exposure to AI and Generative AI tools through trained facilitators and India-specific use cases. The initiative aims to democratise foundational AI education and ensure inclusive digital capacity building across the country.

The Yuva AI for All course is a four-hour, self-paced programme comprising six modules that cover AI fundamentals, ethics and real-world applications, requiring no prior coding knowledge. Participants receive certification upon completion. According to MeitY, the initiative aligns with the IndiaAI Mission, where skilling is one of seven core pillars, and combines instructor-led training, micro- and nano-credentials, and nationwide outreach. Launched in collaboration with partners such as Future Skills Prime, iGOT Karmayogi, Coursera and TCS iON, the programme also serves as a precursor to the India AI Impact Summit 2026, scheduled from February 16–20 at Bharat Mandapam, New Delhi. Positioned as the first global AI summit hosted in the Global South, the event will focus on translating AI discussions into development-oriented outcomes under the themes of People, Planet and Progress.
