With a vision to create long-term, inclusive impact, ACC has been equipping women with practical skills, digital literacy, and employment-linked training that opens doors to sustainable livelihoods.

One such success is Malti Devi from Kalwa village in Amethi. After losing her father and becoming the primary breadwinner, Malti enrolled in the Domestic Data Entry Operator course at the ASDC. Supported by ACC’s structured program and mentoring, she developed the skills and confidence needed to enter the workforce. She secured a job as a Data Analyst at Indivillage Tech Solution in Varanasi with a starting salary of ₹11,800, which soon increased to ₹18,000 owing to her stellar performance.

Today, Malti supports her household and is also funding her younger sister’s education becoming a role model in her community. Through self-help groups (SHGs), ACC and the Adani Foundation are empowering women like Garima Tiwari to achieve financial independence and contribute to community well-being.

The Adani Foundation supported Garima with Rs. 60,000 in financial assistance, while also providing her with proper training and exposure visits for a complete understanding of the process. Along with this, the team also guided her in securing Rs. 1 lakh loan from the LAXHMI SHG, Rs. 1.5 lakh from UP-NRLM, and a personal bank loan of Rs. 3 lakh. As a result, she established a home-based reverse osmosis (RO) water plant, which now supplies safe drinking water to local markets in the Gouriganj area, generating a steady monthly income of Rs. 19,000.

Garima’s success underscores the transformative potential of SHGs in driving economic and social change. By supporting such income-generating activities in collaboration with government programmes and social institutions, the Adani Foundation enables women to overcome financial challenges and secure sustainable livelihoods for their families.

Bengaluru, 16 October 2024: ACC, the cement and building material company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, is committed to facilitating sustainable livelihoods for rural dairy farmers. Along with the Adani Foundation, the Company has established the Annapurna Milk Collection Centre in Annibaijal village, near ACC Tikaria, in collaboration with Mother Dairy. This project supports over 100 dairy farmers across 10 villages, and has quadrupled their milk collection.

The initiative, launched in May 2023, has significantly increased daily milk collection from 100 to 400 litres, benefiting the dairy farming community. It also ensures fair practices, timely payments, and quality-based pricing for milk. The Annapurna Milk Collection Center, managed by the Annapurna Mahila Samiti, ensures transparency in the milk collection process, leveraging modern tools like milk analysers for quality control. Farmers are now paid between Rs. 55-70 per litre based on the fat and solids-not-fat (SNF) content, encouraging high-quality milk production and fair returns.

With 16 Self-Help Groups (SHGs) in the village, the initiative, supported by local, Ms. Santosh Singh, empowers women at various levels of the dairy value chain. The Mother Dairy chilling plant at Gauriganj block further strengthens this supply chain, ensuring that milk is efficiently collected and transported.
