In Gagal village, ACC along with the Adani Foundation continues to support young individuals from challenging socio-economic backgrounds by equipping them with employment-ready skills.

Sakshi grew up in a modest household and faced significant hardships after losing her father early in life. Her mother and elder brother worked tirelessly to sustain the family, with her brother taking up demanding work as a JCB operator to support both the home and her education. Determined to reduce her family’s burden, Sakshi sought avenues to become financially independent.

Through the Adani Skill Development Centre (ASDC) in Gagal, she enrolled in the Retail Sales Associate course, where she developed essential skills in communication, customer engagement, and sales. The structured training not only built her confidence but also prepared her for formal employment in the retail sector.

Bengaluru, 14 July 2025: ACC, the cement and building material company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, along with the Adani Foundation, has enabled a significant water management breakthrough in Tikri village under the Dhounkothi-Panjgain Watershed Project. A dysfunctional water source was revived with a newly constructed tank, expanding its capacity from just 3,000 litres to 70,000 litres—ensuring a steady water supply for irrigation and daily needs.

Before the intervention, residents faced acute water shortages during summers, with the limited supply drying up and affecting both farming and daily life. Farmer Harinder Singh Thakur recalls how irrigation was nearly impossible during the Rabi season.

Today, with the new tank and a rejuvenated step-well nearby, he’s irrigating 1 hectare of wheat and planning to grow cash crops and vegetables to strengthen his family’s security, with an additional income of Rs. 15,000. Harinder is among the seven farmers in Tikri who have benefitted through this rejuvenation project.

Bengaluru, 2 June 2025: ACC, the cement and building material company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, in collaboration with Adani Foundation, is advancing household nutrition in Ropa village through the Poshan Vatika initiative under the Dhounkothi-Panjgain Watershed Project. Designed to reduce market dependency and promote fresh, chemical-free food, the initiative encourages women farmers to grow vegetables using traditional, organic practices.

Satyadevi, one of 40 selected women, previously focused on grain farming and often had to purchase vegetables from the market. With guidance from the project agronomist, she started cultivating cauliflower, spinach, coriander, and kharif onion in her backyard using homemade bio-fertilizers. Her family now enjoys fresh, homegrown produce for several months a year, significantly cutting costs and improving nutrition.

With initiatives like Poshan Vatika, ACC and the Adani Foundation are creating sustainable models of community development. By empowering women with the tools, knowledge, and confidence to grow their own food, the Foundation is enhancing food security, promoting health, and fostering economic independence in rural Himachal.

Bengaluru, 15 January 2025: ACC, the cement and building material company of the diversified Adani Portfolio, in partnership with the Adani Foundation along with support from NABARD, has improved irrigation facilities in Ropa village, Himachal Pradesh. Under the Dhounkothi Panjgain Watershed Development Project, a 639-metre concrete irrigation channel, known locally as a ‘kuhl’, has been built to prevent water wastage and ensure timely water supply for 14 farmers, benefiting their 2.3 hectares of farmland.

ACC, along with Adani Foundation, played a pivotal role in providing technical expertise and project execution to replace traditional kacha ‘kuhls’ with sustainable pucca channels. This initiative included vital components including check dams and water-drop structures to maximise water conservation and distribution efficiency.

Farmers from Ropa village, including Ravi Thakur, now enjoy timely irrigation and improved crop yields, with maize and wheat production rising by over 10%. Thakur said, “With water now able to be evenly distributed across all our fields, ACC and the Adani Foundation have truly changed our farming prospects.”
