आम आदमी पार्टी के प्रदेश अध्यक्ष और राज्यसभा सांसद डॉ. सुशील गुप्ता ने शुक्रवार को गुरुग्राम में जिला पार्टी कार्यलय में प्रेस वार्ता की। उन्होंने पलायन कर रहे परिवारों में विश्वास बहाली के लिए अपील की। उन्होंने कहा कि हरियाणा से पलायन न करें। मेवात, गुरुग्राम और प्रदेश के कई जिलों से लोग पलायन कर रहे हैं। उधर सीएम खट्टर ने हाथ खड़े कर बयान दिया है कि एक एक नागरिक की सुरक्षा नहीं की जा सकती। उन्होंने आग में घी डालने का काम किया है। लोग डर के साऐं में जीने को मजबूर हैं।

डॉ. सुशील गुप्ता ने कहा कि प्रदेश के सभी लोगों की सुरक्षा की जिम्मेदारी हमारी है। आप सभी हरियाणा में महफूज हैं। किसी प्रकार की अफवाहों की तरफ ध्यान न दें। इससे पूर्व, उन्होंने कहा कि 31 जुलाई को नूंह में भड़की आग की लपटों की चपेट में प्रदेश के कई जिले आ गए। गुरुग्राम में ही सेक्टर 57, पटौदी रोड, सेक्टर 70ए, सोहना और आसपास के क्षेत्रों में डर का माहौल बना हुआ है। झुग्गियों में रहने वाले ज्यादातर कामगार लोग पलायन करने को मजबूर हैं। कामगारों के पलायन से उद्योग धंधे ठप हो जायेंगे। उन्होंने कहा कि लोगों से बातचीत में पता लगा कि 100 से 150 लोगों की भीड़ मुंह पर कपड़े बांधकर खाली करने की धमकी देने आती है।

उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश के मुख्यमंत्री खट्टर ने गैर जिम्मेदाराना बयान देकर अपनी जिम्मेदारी से हाथ खींच लिया। उन्होंने कहा कि वे एक एक नागरिक को सुरक्षा नहीं से सकते। उन्हें पद पर बने रहने का कोई नैतिक अधिकार नहीं है। उन्हें इस्तीफा दे देना चाहिए। प्रदेश के भविष्य के साथ खिलवाड़ हो रहा है। बड़ी बड़ी कंपनियां निवेश करने से पीछे हट रही हैं।

उन्होंने कहा कि प्रदेश बेरोजगारी में नंबर एक पर है। सरकारी भर्तियां हो नहीं रहीं हैं। यही कारण है कि लोग पलायन कर रहे हैं। हरियाणा के उप मुख्यमंत्री षड्यंत्र की बात बोल रहे हैं। जबकि हरियाणा के गृह मंत्री बगैर जांच लिए एक गुट विशेष को क्लीन चिट दे रहे हैं। जबकि पुलिस बोल रही है तफ्तीश चल रही है। हरियाणा के सीएम, गृहमंत्री, उप मुख्यमंत्री, सांसद और विधायक अलग अलग भाषा बोल रहे हैं। मुख्यमंत्री और गृहमंत्री में तालमेल नहीं है। उन्होंने कहा कि जो लोग एक बात नहीं बोल थे, उन्हें प्रदेश के लोगों की क्या चिंता होगी।

डॉ. सुशील गुप्ता ने कहा कि वे सांसद में नूंह मुद्दे को लेकर चर्चा करने को लेकर नोटिस दे रहे हैं, लेकिन केंद्र सरकार इस मुद्दे को लेकर चर्चा करने को लेकर तैयार नहीं है। उन्होंने मुख्यमंत्री खट्टर को संबोधित करते हुए कहा कि राजधर्म को न भूलें। प्रदेश के लोगों की सुरक्षा की चिंता करें। इस मौके पर प्रदेश सचिव पूर्व विधायक उमेश अग्रवाल, लोकसभा अध्यक्ष मुकेश डागर, जिला अध्यक्ष धर्मेन्द्र खटाना,  प्रदेश डॉक्टर विंग प्रेसिडेंट डॉ. सारिका वर्मा ,मुकेश वर्मा प्रदेश मीडिया कोर्डिनेटर, जिला मीडिया प्रभारी माईकल सैनी , जिला सोशल मीडिया इंचार्ज पारस जुनेजा , ब्लॉक प्रमुख श्यामलाल बामनिया , नरेश अग्रवाल, मौजूद रहे।

This is a paradox of the situation, as on one hand we have successfully sent Chandrayaan 3 to explore water on the south pole of the moon, on the other hand, the national capital of India is facing a deluge of water. Lo and behold, it has not rained in Delhi so much, but Pandava’s Indraprastha is flooded. The Yamuna river in Delhi witnessed an unprecedented surge causing severe flooding in nearby areas and affecting streets, public facilities and private infrastructure. Residents in the affected areas are grappling with odds and adversary in the face of unprecedented events. The authorities evacuated as many as 16,564 people and around 14,534 of them took refuge in tents pitched by the Delhi government and under flyovers.

People marooned

Thousands of people were compelled to seek refuge on the road. Schools, colleges, crematoriums and even water treatment plants in Delhi were closed as overflowing Yamuna inundated the national capital. As per media reports, the water level of the Yamuna, all-time high on Thursday, is gradually receding, however several parts in Delhi, including Supreme court, ITO, Rajghat, iconic Lal Qila among others are confronting the challenges of flood. As people were on Thursday battling with flood, five gates of the ITO barrage were reportedly jammed, spelling more trouble. The crops planted on hundreds of acres in Delhi’s Madanpur Khadar were destroyed owing to flooding in the areas.  According to a trader’s body: “An estimated Rs 200 crore worth of business has been affected due to rains and flooding in parts of the national capital.”

Commuters faced difficulties as traffic was diverted due to waterlogging at ITO road, a key stretch connecting east Delhi to Lutyens’s Delhi. “No vehicular traffic will be allowed on Mahatma Gandhi Marg from Sarai Kale Khan towards IP Flyover due to overflow of drain water near WHO Building. Commuters are advised to avoid the stretch,” the Delhi Traffic Police said in a tweet. The Delhi police has also imposed section 144 CrPC as a precautionary measure in the flood-prone areas in Delhi.

Blame games: People in knee-deep trouble

Political blame games have erupted between the ruling party Aam Aadmi Party and the Bharatiya Janata Party amidst people are in knee-deep trouble in flood-like situations.

BJP’s IT cell head Amit Malviya said that Arvind Kejriwal is responsible for Delhi floods and Yamuna inundating streets of Delhi and adjoining areas. He added, “Despite several promises to clean the Yamuna, no dredging has been done ever since Kejriwal came to power. Sewer lines have not been desilted for the last 8 years. Even this year, drains that were to be desilted till 15th June, have not been cleared. There is no drainage plan for the city.”

AAP leader and PWD Minister Atishi Marlena tweeted, “Ecosystems are not divided by political boundaries. Not just north India, the whole world is witnessing large-scale climatic catastrophes. The amount of rainfall this year in Delhi, Himachal, Haryana etc. is unprecedented by far. And this is exactly why the Yamuna is flooding, as one common river basin that goes through several states.”

BJP leader Manoj Tiwari said of the flood situation: “I had been constantly alerting (the government) over this (flood) threat. But the Arvind Kejriwal government didn’t wake up.”

The Congress attacked the AAP government in Delhi over the flood-like situation, describing it as a “man-made crisis” and not a natural disaster. Congress spokesperson Supriya Shrinate told news agency PTI, “The government needs to step in. It has happened because of a man-made crisis, this is not a natural disaster. Drains are not clear, water bodies have been taken over, (there is) illegal occupation of land…”

“Where is the Delhi chief minister? Looks like he said it seriously that he would make Delhi (a) land of lakes,” Shrinate said in a swipe at Arvind Kejriwal.

PM Modi enquires about flood from France

Delhi Lt Governor VK Saxena on Thursday said Prime Minister Narendra Modi called him up over the phone from France to enquire about the flood and waterlogging situation in the national capital.

“Honourable Prime Minister Shri @narendramodi ji called from France to enquire about the waterlogging and flood situation in Delhi and the efforts being made to deal with it,” Saxena said.

Devastating 1978 Delhi floods

The devastating Delhi flood of 1978 was a natural disaster that occurred in the national capital. In July 1978, heavy monsoon rains lashed the city, leading to massive flooding and widespread destruction. The flood was one of the worst in Delhi’s history and resulted in the loss of many lives and extensive damage to infrastructure. The then Indira Gandhi-led union government had to deploy Indian Air Force choppers to drop food packets and relief materials among the flood victims.

The 1978 flood served as a wake-up call for Delhi’s authorities, leading to a re-evaluation of the city’s drainage and flood management systems. Subsequent measures were taken to improve infrastructure, including the construction of additional stormwater drains and reservoirs. These initiatives aimed to enhance the city’s resilience to future flooding events. The 2023 Delhi flood must be taken on a serious note to refurbish the infrastructure to avert such a situation in the face of climatic challenges becoming formidable with each passing year.

विपक्षी एकता की राह में रोड़ा बन सकता है आप-कांग्रेस के बीच की कड़वाहट

नई दिल्ली। विपक्षी एकता की राह में आम आदमी पार्टी (आप) और कांग्रेस के बीच की कड़वाहट सबसे बड़ी बाधा बन सकती है। दरअसल, कांग्रेस के वजूद (पंजाब, दिल्ली जैसे राज्य) पर अपने अस्तित्व की इमारत की नींव रखने वाली आप के संयोजक और दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने दिल्ली अध्यादेश पर अब नया दांव चला है। केजरीवाल ने पटना में 23 जून को विपक्ष के महाजुटान में यह साफ कर दिया कि कांग्रेस को दिल्ली अध्यादेश पर आप का समर्थन करना होगा। 15 प्रमुख विपक्षी दलों के 22 से अधिक प्रमुख नेताओं की मौजूदगी में दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने सभी विपक्षी दलों से दिल्ली अध्यादेश पर समर्थन मांगा। इस दौरान उन्होंने कांग्रेस पर आरोप लगाये और कहा कि राहुल गांधी और मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे को अपना स्टैंड क्लियर करना चाहिए।

दरअसल, यह अध्यादेश दिल्ली में अफसरों की ट्रांसफर-पोस्टिंग से जुड़ा है। सुप्रीम कोर्ट ने हाल ही में एक फैसले में अफसरों की ट्रांसफर-पोस्टिंग का अधिकार दिल्ली सरकार को दे दिया था, लेकिन केंद्र सरकार ने अध्यादेश के जरिए ये अधिकार फिर से उपराज्यपाल को दे दिये हैं। तबसे इसी को लेकर दिल्ली की सरकार और केंद्र सरकार में तनातनी है। आप ने इस अध्यादेश को ही असंवैधानिक बता दिया है। मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल ने कहा कि केंद्र का यह अध्यादेश असंवैधानिक और लोकतंत्र के खिलाफ है।

इसको लेकर आप ने कांग्रेस के सामने नई शर्त भी रख दी है और कहा है कि विपक्षी एकता तभी संभव है जब राहुल गांधी अध्यादेश का समर्थन करने के लिए हामी भरें। पटना में विपक्ष के महाजुटन के बाद आप की राष्ट्रीय प्रवक्ता प्रियंका कक्कड़ ने कहा कि अगर कांग्रेस संसद में दिल्ली अध्यादेश का विरोध करती है तो आम आदमी पाटी कांग्रेस के नेतृत्व वाले विपक्ष का हिस्सा नहीं बनेगी। आप ने कांग्रेस के सामने एक नई शर्त यह भी रखी है कि कांग्रेस राहुल गांधी को तीसरी बार नेता के तौर पर प्रोजेक्ट नहीं करेगी। यह संविधान को बचाने से भी अधिक महत्वपूर्ण है। दरअसल, शिमला में विपक्षी एका के लिए अगली बैठक अगले माह के दूसरे सप्ताह में होनी है और इसके लिए पूरी तैयारी भी की जा रही है, लेकिन विपक्षी एका की राह में दिल्ली अध्यादेश बड़ा रोड़ा बन सकता है। 23 जून की पटना में हुई बैठक के बाद भी विपक्ष के संयुक्त प्रेस कॉन्फ्रेंस में दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल, पंजाब के मुख्यमंत्री भगवंत मान और आप के राज्यसभा सांसद राघव चड्ढा व संजय सिंह नजर नहीं आये और वापस दिल्ली चले गए और दिल्ली से बयान जारी कर कहा कि अगर कांग्रेस दिल्ली अध्यादेश पर आप का समर्थन नहीं करती है तो कांग्रेस के साथ कोई भी गठबंधन मुश्किल होगा। वहीं राहुल गांधी ने कहा कि अध्यादेश पर चर्चा की एक प्रक्रिया होती है। अब पश्चिम बंगाल की मुख्यमंत्री ममता बनर्जी ने सुझाव दिया है कि राहुल गांधी और अरविंद केजरीवाल को चाय या दोपहर के भोजन पर मतभेदों को दूर करना चाहिए।

वहीं, कांग्रेस अध्यक्ष मल्लिकार्जुन खरगे ने आप के आरोपों पर कहा कि आप प्रवक्ता कांग्रेस पर ही आरोप लगा रहे हैं। उन्होंने कहा कि प्रियंका कक्कड़ ऐसा कैसे कह सकतीं हैं कि राहुल गांधी का दिल्ली अध्यादेश पर भाजपा के प्रति सॉफ्ट कॉर्नर है। वहीं, कांग्रेस नेता अजय माकन ने अनुच्छेद 370 को निरस्त करने के लिए केजरीवाल के समर्थन का हवाला दिया और पूछा कि बी टीम कौन थी। इस प्रकार आप के संयोजक और दिल्ली के मुख्यमंत्री अरविंद केजरीवाल का रवैया विपक्षी एका की राह में सबसे बड़ा रोड़ा बनता दिख रहा है। वहीं, पश्चिम बंगाल से कांग्रेस के सांसद अधीर रंजन के बयान के भी मायने निकाले जाने लगे हैं। अधीर रंजन ने ममता बनर्जी की तृणमूल कांग्रेस टीएमसी पर कई आरोप लगाते हुए उसे चोरों की पार्टी तक कह डाला। ममता बनर्जी पर निशाना साधते हुए उन्होंने कहा कि बंगाल में आप हमें खत्म करना चाहतीं हैं और बाहर हम आपको मदद करने के लिए खड़े रहें, यह संभव नहीं है। इस प्रकार साफ है कि भले ही विपक्षी दल जुलाई के दूसरे सप्ताह में शिमला में मिलें, लेकिन जो कड़वाहट कुछ प्रमुख पार्टियों के बीच सामने आ रही है, उससे साफ जाहिर है कि विपक्षी एका की राह आसान नहीं है।

Punjab Chief Minister-elect Bhagwant Mann  announced that his oath-taking ceremony will be held at Khatkarkalan in Nawanshahr district, the ancestral village of freedom fighter Bhagat Singh.

He also announced that government offices will not have the photo of the Chief Minister as is the custom.

“The oath-taking ceremony will not be held at Raj Bhawan, but at Khatkarkalan. The date will be announced later,” he said in his victory speech in Dhuri, where he won by over 58,000 votes.

“No government office will carry a picture of Chief Minister, instead there will be pictures of Bhagat Singh and BR Ambedkar,” Mr Mann announced.

Underlining the scale of the Aam Aadmi Party’s victory by naming the heavyweights who have lost, the AAP leader said, “Bade (Parkash Singh) Badal Sahib has lost, Sukhbir (Badal) has lost from Jalalabad, Captain has lost from Patiala, Sidhu and Majithia are also losing, (Charanjit Singh) Channi has lost on both the seats.”

Mr Mann said his first order of business after taking office will be schools, health, industry, making agriculture profitable, the safety of women and improving sports infrastructure.

“You will start seeing the change in Punjab within one month,” he promised.

Appealing to people to work together, he said those who did not vote for the AAP need not worry as the government will work for all sections of the society.

The central government had reviewed the security of Mr Vishwas and the threat perception based on intelligence inputs in the wake of his allegations against AAP convenor and Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal.

After the review, it was decided to give Mr Vishwas ‘Y’ category security through the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF), the sources said.

Under the ‘Y’ category security, Mr Vishwas will be protected by four personal security officers round the clock.

meanwhile Amid ex-AAP leader and poet Kumar Vishwas’ sensational claim, several poets have written an open letter to Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal alleging that his counter to Vishwas had ‘hurt the sentiments of poets’. Over 40 persons, mostly poets, have signed the letter saying that instead of relying on facts to counter Kumar Vishwas’ statement, Kejriwal had ‘insulted’ poets as a class.

The letter addressed to the Chief Minister in Hindi read, “As poets and people of literature, we are deeply hurt by your disrespectful remarks. As an irresponsible person, you have ridiculed him (Kumar Vishwas) and without any proof, have called him the person who makes unreliable claims. That is why we are writing to you with a heavy heart.”

Intense violence after protesters for and against the controversial citizenship law clashed and threw stones at each other, set vehicles and shops on fire. Five people, including a cop, were killed and nearly 100 were injured in Delhi. Around 20 police personnel were injured and have been hospitalised. Union Home Minister Amit Shah held a late-night meeting with the Delhi police chief, the Union Home Secretary and other senior officials.

Three firefighters have been injured after a group of people set a fire engine ablaze and threw stones at another. The violence began on Monday hours before United States President Donald Trump, was expected in the capital. Mr Trump is expected to spend the day in Delhi for the operative part of his state visit.

Delhi Chief Minister Kejriwal has called an urgent meeting of MLAs and officials from the violence-hit areas. He tweeted, “I am very worried about the prevailing situation in certain parts of Delhi. All of us together should make all efforts to restore peace in our city. I again urge everyone to shun violence.”

Delhi ministers Gopal Rai, Imran Hussain and other Aam Aadmi Party MLAs camped outside Lieutenant Governor Anil Baijal’s residence late last night to discuss with him the law and order situation. Mr Baijal said he had “instructed Delhi Police to ensure law and order is maintained”.

The Delhi government has ordered all private and government schools to be closed in the northeast Delhi district to remain closed today in the wake of the violence. Large gatherings have been banned in northeast Delhi under Section 144. They have also been imposed outside Delhi Police Headquarters after calls for protest marches by the JNU Students Union. Delhi Metro has closed the Jaffrabad, Maujpur-Babarpur, Gokulpuri, Johri Enclave and Shiv Vihar stations

Delhi election 2020 was held on Saturday, with 62.59 per cent of the city’s voters coming out to exercise their democratic right. The voter turnout in the previous assembly election in 2015 stood at 67.5 per cent.

Exit polls have predicted another term for Arvind Kejriwal, who came to power in 2015 with a massive mandate – forgiven after his apology for the 49-day government of 2014.

The campaign has been bitter and polarised, the political discourse bogged down by hate speeches. A last-minute controversy arose after the voting, over the Election Commission’s delay in announcing the final polling figures.

The Chief Minister has given Delhi what he called a “10-point guarantee card”, which includes free power, 24-hour drinking water on tap, a clean Yamuna and a world-class education to every child. In its manifesto, AAP has also promised round-the-clock markets in the model of Mumbai and expanding the metro network into the “world’s largest”.

The BJP confident that its seven-out-of-seven-score in last year’s Lok Sabha polls in Delhi augurs better fortune. In the run-up to the polls, the party pushed in its 270 MPs, 70 union ministers and state leaders to seek votes. Union minister Amit Shah contributed to the final push with a door-to-door campaign.

Election Held in the shadow of the protests over the contentious Citizenship Amendment Act, the National Population Register and the National Register of Citizens, the two-month campaign has been divisive, with the rhetoric on a downward spiral. “Goli maaro” slogans were raised at the meetings of several BJP leaders and the Chief Minister was publicly called a “terrorist” by a union minister.

BJP’s Delhi MP Parvesh Verma was the first to use the term for the Chief Minister at a public meeting on January 25. “We hear instances of Hindu women picked up by Muslim men… no action is taken as terrorists like Kejriwal are hidden everywhere. Should we fight with Pakistan terrorists in Kashmir or with terrorists like Kejriwal,” he had said.

The BJP leader was talking about round-the-clock agitation at Shaheen Bagh, the heart of protests against Citizenship (Amendment) Act or CAA, accusing Mr Kejriwal and AAP of providing support to the protesters.

Union Minister Prakash javdekar alledges “There is a reason voters of Delhi have turned away from Arvind Kejriwal. Kejriwal makes an innocent face and asks – ‘am I a terrorist?’ — You are a terrorist, there is plenty of proof. You had yourself said you are an anarchist; there is not much difference between an anarchist and terrorist,”

Harshita Kejriwal and her mother hit back at the BJP. “Let them level allegations, let them bring 200 MPs and 11 Chief Ministers. Not only us… two crore common people are also campaigning (for AAP). They will show them on February 11… whether they cast votes on the basis of allegations or work done (by the government),” Harshita adding that her father made her read Bhagavad Gita, an ancient text, when she was young.

Mr Kejriwal’s wife Sunita Kejriwal echoed similar views. “I think people will give them (BJP leaders) a befitting reply. It’s been 25 years since we are married. He (Arvind) has always told social service is his passion. Those who are saying even they know are lying… either they are under some sort of pressure or they lack an individual identity,” she told

At the same time, he raised questions on demonstrations like Shaheen Bagh of Delhi and said that when the passengers traveling in buses see the buses burning, then thire soul trembles.
