IIM Raipur Faculty Engages in AACSB International Accreditation of Learning Workshop to Strengthen Curriculum and Student Outcomes

Bengaluru, October 06^th, 2025: Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Raipur, proudly hosted a two-day workshop as part of its strategic journey toward earning the prestigious AACSB (Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business) International accreditation. The workshop marked a critical step in strengthening academic quality, institutional processes, and global engagement.

The session was facilitated by Dr. Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer, Asia Pacific, Americas, and Membership at AACSB International, and Shri Prathap Das, Regional Head for South Asia at AACSB. Dr. Perry, an accomplished academic leader with a PhD in Economics, brought global perspectives on accreditation, while Shri Das shared insights tailored to the South Asian higher education landscape.

Designed for all faculty members, the program deepened their understanding of AACSB standards and international best practices. It emphasized cultivating a culture where faculty engaged proactively with student learning, developing clear rubrics and program-level goals aligned with IIM Raipur’s mission, and implementing robust closing-the-loop processes to ensure continuous curriculum improvement.

Sharing his perspective on the workshop’s impact, Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, Director-in-charge, IIM Raipur, said, “Workshops like the AACSB Assurance of Learning initiative were critical in shaping how we viewed education, not as a static process, but as a continuous cycle of reflection, alignment, and improvement. At IIM Raipur, our mission has been to cultivate leaders who are not only academically strong but also globally relevant and socially responsible. This workshop was a vital step in our commitment to delivering world-class education. Achieving AACSB accreditation will not only enhance the quality of our academic offerings but also strengthen our global presence and partnerships.”

The sessions also highlighted the importance of systematic documentation, stakeholder involvement, and data-driven decision-making. Faculty members explored discipline-specific applications. The focus was on refining Assurance of Learning (AoL) systems to assess competencies such as analytical skills and digital proficiency. Additionally, the emphasis was on measuring professional presentation and ethical messaging, integrating soft skills within the broader business context.

Through this initiative, IIM Raipur reinforced its commitment to innovation in teaching and research, alignment of curriculum with industry needs, and embedding global relevance into its academic offerings. By strategically integrating competency-based learning outcomes with its mission and values, the institute strengthened its academic rigour, enhanced curriculum relevance, and advanced its preparedness to develop responsible leaders for a globalised world.

The workshop demonstrated IIM Raipur’s dedication to continuous improvement, impactful research, and global engagement as it moved closer to achieving AACSB International accreditation.

Ms. Jha is the Founder and Chairperson of Morphedo Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a pioneering deep-tech company driving innovation in national security, healthcare, and sustainable construction. This entrepreneurial journey—from ideation on the BIMTECH campus to building ventures with a projected INR 1,000 crore turnover by 2030—reflects the vision, leadership, innovation, and societal impact embodied by co-founders and life partners, Manya Jha and Sushil Barnwal.

Ahmedabad University wins 2 Global Awards

New Delhi, July 07, 2023: Ahmedabad University has been “highly commended” by The Times Higher Education (THE) Awards Asia 2023, under the Teaching and Learning Strategy of the Year Category. The research-pedagogy design and its unique learning initiatives underscored by the Foundation Programme, Engagement and Application Based Learning and Education (ENABLE), and Independent Study Period won the private, non-profit research university in Gujarat this recognition.

This comes close on the heels of AACSB, the world’s largest business education association, picking Ahmedabad University’s Amrut Mody School of Management for the Innovations That Inspire award 2023 in recognition of its innovative interdisciplinary Foundation Studios that defines the Foundation Programme, the common core of Undergraduate education.

“This has been a major achievement for the University. Two global awards for the same thing – our Foundation Programme. This is our significant story – the unique pedagogy that the world is recognising. It is also a direction that the world of education wants to move towards and we are already leading that movement,” said Pankaj Chandra, vice chancellor of Ahmedabad University.

Widely known as the ‘Oscars of higher education’, THE Awards offer a major international platform to recognise outstanding leadership and institutional performance and celebrate Asia’s higher education excellence. THE awards were a prestige fixture on the UK higher education calendar for 14 years before travelling overseas for the first time in 2019.

Ahmedabad University is a leading liberal education-driven research university that ushers in very close interdisciplinary linkages between the arts, sciences, and professional disciplines. ENABLE is a novel concept of designing learning of theoretical underpinnings while coming up with real-time solutions for a problem. The University has a hands-on winter term called the Independent Study Period, where students take interdisciplinary block courses offered by experts, practitioners, and pioneers in various fields. All students entering the undergraduate programme go through the Foundation Programme, building the foundations of interdisciplinary learning,engaging with issues of society through project-based learning, learning to ask the right questions.
