The session was facilitated by Dr. Geoff Perry, Executive Vice President and Chief Officer, Asia Pacific, Americas, and Membership at AACSB International, and Shri Prathap Das, Regional Head for South Asia at AACSB. Dr. Perry, an accomplished academic leader with a PhD in Economics, brought global perspectives on accreditation, while Shri Das shared insights tailored to the South Asian higher education landscape.

Designed for all faculty members, the program deepened their understanding of AACSB standards and international best practices. It emphasized cultivating a culture where faculty engaged proactively with student learning, developing clear rubrics and program-level goals aligned with IIM Raipur’s mission, and implementing robust closing-the-loop processes to ensure continuous curriculum improvement.

Sharing his perspective on the workshop’s impact, Prof. Sanjeev Prashar, Director-in-charge, IIM Raipur, said, “Workshops like the AACSB Assurance of Learning initiative were critical in shaping how we viewed education, not as a static process, but as a continuous cycle of reflection, alignment, and improvement. At IIM Raipur, our mission has been to cultivate leaders who are not only academically strong but also globally relevant and socially responsible. This workshop was a vital step in our commitment to delivering world-class education. Achieving AACSB accreditation will not only enhance the quality of our academic offerings but also strengthen our global presence and partnerships.”

The sessions also highlighted the importance of systematic documentation, stakeholder involvement, and data-driven decision-making. Faculty members explored discipline-specific applications. The focus was on refining Assurance of Learning (AoL) systems to assess competencies such as analytical skills and digital proficiency. Additionally, the emphasis was on measuring professional presentation and ethical messaging, integrating soft skills within the broader business context.

Through this initiative, IIM Raipur reinforced its commitment to innovation in teaching and research, alignment of curriculum with industry needs, and embedding global relevance into its academic offerings. By strategically integrating competency-based learning outcomes with its mission and values, the institute strengthened its academic rigour, enhanced curriculum relevance, and advanced its preparedness to develop responsible leaders for a globalised world.

The workshop demonstrated IIM Raipur’s dedication to continuous improvement, impactful research, and global engagement as it moved closer to achieving AACSB International accreditation.
