Bhilai Steel Plant emerges champions
SAIL, Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP) emerged champions in the Steel Plant Sports Board (SPSB) Inter-Steel Kabaddi Championship-2024-25, hosted by SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP). The BSP team beat RINL by 42-32 points in the final match held on 19th March, 2025 at Ispat Basketball Complex, Sector-6 to win the title. Mr. Sudip Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects) graced the concluding ceremony as the Chief Guest and presented trophies to the winner and the runners up teams. Mr. T G Kanekar, GM In-charge (TS) and other Senior Officers of the plant were present on the occasion.
In his address, Mr. Pal Chowdhury congratulated the winners and appreciated the efforts of each of the teams in the tournament. He applauded the Sports Department of RSP for successfully organizing the event at Rourkela.
The three-day championship featured teams from Bokaro Steel Plant, Bhilai Steel Plant, Durgapur Steel Plant, IISCO Steel Plant, Alloy Steel Plant, Burnpur, RINL, VISL, and Salem Steel Plant, alongside the host RSP.
Earlier, the BSP team beat the IISCO Steel Plant team and the RINL team beat the VISL team to reach the finals.
Mr. T G Kanekar welcomed the gathering while Mr. Anil Mallick, MOMT, SSM coordinated the programme. Mr. R N Padhy, Deputy Manager (Sports) proposed a formal vote of thanks.
