Bhubaneswar: Shri Sanjay Kumar Biswal, IAS, has been appointed as the Managing Director of Capital Region Urban Transport (CRUT). A dynamic officer with a proven record in public service, Shri Biswal has played a key role in advancing sustainable urban mobility initiatives.
He is presently leading the procurement of 350 electric buses under the PM eBus Sewa scheme—an important step towards promoting eco-friendly public transport. Since joining CRUT as General Manager (Operations) in July 2023, he has driven several transformative initiatives, including the transition of bus drivers into “Mo Bus Captains,” a pioneering programme that elevated service standards through comprehensive training and capacity building.
An Automobile Engineering graduate from VIT, Pune, with an MBA in Finance and Operations, Shri Biswal brings strong technical and managerial expertise. His leadership is expected to further strengthen CRUT’s vision of delivering efficient, inclusive, and sustainable urban transport services.
