NEW DELHI. Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Limited (ONGC) has announced the appointment of Shri Om Prakash Sinha as Director (Exploration). A seasoned energy professional, Shri Sinha brings with him over three decades of extensive experience in the upstream sector.
With a strong background in exploration, reservoir management, deepwater development, and strategic project execution, Shri Sinha has been a key contributor to ONGC’s operational excellence and technological advancement.
An alumnus of the Indian Institute of Technology (Indian School of Mines), Dhanbad, Shri Sinha holds a degree in Petroleum Engineering. Throughout his distinguished career, he has held several critical leadership roles, including Head of the Institute of Reservoir Studies (IRS), Sub-Surface Manager at ONGC’s Assam Asset, and significant assignments at GEOPIC, IRS Ahmedabad, and Project ICE, New Delhi.
His appointment is expected to further strengthen ONGC’s exploration capabilities and support its strategic objectives in energy security and innovation.
