Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE) welcomes the landmark implementation of the four Labour Codes by the Government of India, marking a historic step towards simplifying, rationalizing, and modernising the country’s labour law framework. SCOPE has been an active participant in various consultative processes and stakeholder discussions leading to the formulation of the Labour Codes, contributing perspectives from the public sector and supporting the Government’s reform agenda.
The four Labour Codes—on Wages, Industrial Relations, Social Security, and Occupational Safety, Health & Working Conditions — are poised to bring transformative changes that safeguard the interests of all categories of workers across formal and informal sectors. By expanding social security coverage, strengthening worker protection, promoting gender equality, and enabling a more conducive environment for industry and employment growth, these reforms embody the spirit of social justice and inclusive development.
