SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant felicitates team for exemplary work under ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’

A felicitation programme was organized on 11th October 2025 at Ispat General Hospital (IGH) of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant to honour individuals for their outstanding contribution towards the success of the ‘Swasth Nari, Sashakt Parivar Abhiyaan’, a national initiative launched by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India. Dr. Jayanta Kumar Acharya, CMO I/c (Medical & Health Services) presided over the program and felicitated Mr. Gandharb Raj Nayak and Mr. Benedict Ekka of the CSR Department, along with Ms. Jaya Kumari Gupta, Dietician, and Ms. Sandhyarani Dash, Psychologist from M/s HLL Lifecare Limited recognizing their exceptional commitment. Dr. Prativa Sadangi, CMO (M&HS), Ms. Munmun Mittra, GM IN-Charge (CSR), Mr. B Mallik, GM (CSR) and other Senior Officers of CSR and IGH were present on the occasion.

Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Acharya applauded their professionalism, dedication, and teamwork, which played a vital role in achieving the targets set for RSP under the campaign. He highlighted RSP’s continued commitment to community health, nutrition, and women’s empowerment.

As part of the campaign, conducted across the country from 17th September to 2nd October 2025 in convergence with Rashtriya Poshan Maah, RSP, through a joint effort of IGH and the CSR Department, carried out extensive outreach activities covering peripheral villages, schools, and slum areas. A total of 2,894 beneficiaries were reached through health camps and awareness programmes.

The initiative featured comprehensive health screenings for blood pressure, obesity, breast and oral cancer, cervical health, and joint-related issues. Alongside, awareness sessions were held on nutrition, hygiene, menstrual health, stress management, posture correction, gender equality, and prevention of sexual abuse. Yoga sessions were also organized, promoting physical fitness and holistic well-being.
