Bhilai Steel Plant (BSP), a unit of Steel Authority of India Limited (SAIL) in Chhattisgarh, achieved a national record by consecutively casting almost 315 heats of rail steel in its bloom caster, surpassing the previous record of 309 heats held by SAIL’s Rourkela Steel Plant. BSP, a key contributor to national infrastructure and defense projects, recently supplied 15,900 tonnes of steel for the Mumbai Trans Harbour Link, India’s longest sea bridge.SAIL-BSP is the primary supplier of world class rails for Indian railways in lengths up to 260 metres.
