The Rourkela Steel Plant Open School Football Tournament-2025 organized by the Sports Cell of Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) concluded on 14h October, 2025. Mr. T G Kanekar, CGM (TS & CSR) graced the concluding function as Chief Guest and presented trophies to the winners and runners up teams. Many senior officers and staff of RSP, representatives of Schools and sports lovers were present on the occasion.
Congratulating the winner as well as all the participating teams for showcasing best sportsmanship and team spirit, Mr. Kanekar said, “The spirit of camaraderie and sportsmanship that we have witnessed throughout this tournament has been truly heartening.
In the Senior Boys category, Kalyani Ray Higher Secondary School, Rourkela became the winners by defeating Nilashaila College, Rourkela. In Junior Group of Boys, team from Saint Paul’s School emerged as champions after beating PMShri Kendriya Vidyalaya by 1-0 margin. Similarly, in the Girls’ category, Kalyani Ray Higher Secondary School became the winners defeating NAC ST High School, Sector-6 by 1-0 goal.
Mr. Raghu Nandan Padhee, Deputy Manager, Sports welcomed the gathering while Mr. B Singh, Assistant Manager (Sports) proposed a formal vote of thanks. Mr. Sasanka Pattanaik, Deputy Manager (PR) coordinated the programme.
At the end of the ceremony the Chief Guest of the event lowered the Sports Flag and declared the tournament closed. It may be noted that in all 37 teams from different schools of the township participated in the event.
