‘Roshni- Saksham Sathi’ a counselling workshop for spouses of retiring employees of Rourkela Steel Plant held

‘ROSHNI-Saksham Sathi’, a counseling workshop for the spouses of the employees retiring between July to September 2025 was organised at Civic Centre on 23rd June.  Mr. Hiralal Mohapatra, CGM (Utilities & Environment) was the Chief Guest on the occasion while Mr. G R Dash, GM (HR- Proj., CLC, T & M) was the Guest of Honour.

Mr. Mohapatra, while addressing the gathering, thanked the participants for the steadfast support they have extended to their spouses. He urged them to carry this spirit forward into retirement, assisting their partners in embracing and adapting to this new stage of life.

Speaking on the occasion Mr. Dash encouraged the spouses to support and empathize with the retiring employees, helping them navigate the changes of post-retirement life for a smooth and positive transition.”

A session on “Mindset for smooth Transition to a new phase of life after Retirement” was conducted by Ms. Balbinder Kaur, Faculty (Art of Living) while Mr. Pappu Kumar, AGM (F&A) deliberated on various aspects of Financial Security Planning.  Mr. Purushottam Sahoo, AGM (TE-Horticulture) shared tips on Post Retirement Engagement while Dr. S Kumar, Additional CMO (OHSC) spoke about ‘Ensuring good health, well-being and holistic approach for a meaningful Life.’

Mr. S P Majhi, Assistant Manager (HR) welcomed the gathering and also proposed a formal vote of thanks. The workshop was co-ordinated by Ms. Jyoti Oreya, AGM (HR) with the support of Mr. K K Parida, Labour Inspector and HR- ER&C team.  It is noteworthy that the workshop is being held at regular intervals covering the spouses of the son-to-be-retired employees.
