As part of the Public Sector Day celebrations, a session on the “Role of PSUs in Viksit Bharat” was organized at Coal India. Executive Director (Co-ordination and Production), Shri Alok Lalit Kumar, Coal India While addressing the session emphasizing the vital role played by Public Sector Undertakings in nation-building, with special reference to Coal India. He highlighted that the vision of Viksit Bharat is to drive economic growth, empower citizens, and build a nation that stands tall with pride and progress.
Describing PSUs as the engines of growth, he highlighted that PSUs also play a crucial role in employment generation and sustaining critical sectors of the economy.
Referring to Coal India as the “biggest and best” PSU, Shri Kumar also touched upon the challenges that PSUs must overcome – such as intense competition and the need to continually enhance efficiency. He stressed that innovation, creativity, improved productivity, strong customer relationships, a positive work culture, collaboration, and teamwork are essential drivers that can propel the company to new heights of excellence.
Coal India’s Executive Director (Community Development), Shri O.P. Mishra, while speaking, highlighted the significant social contributions of Public Sector Undertakings (PSUs).
