MUMBAI. The Shipping Corporation of India (SCI) has appointed Rear Admiral Jaswinder Singh as Director of the Bulk, Crude and Tanker (BC&T) segment, in addition to his current role as Director of Liner and Passenger Services. The appointment, approved by the Ministry of Ports, Shipping and Waterways, is effective from 1 January 2025 to 30 June 2026 or until further orders. Rear Admiral Singh brings over 35 years of rich maritime experience from the Indian Navy and Coast Guard, having served in senior leadership roles including Chief of Staff, Southern Naval Command, Assistant Chief of Naval Staff (Foreign Cooperation) and Principal Director at Naval Headquarters. Since joining SCI in 2023, he has played a key role in strengthening the company’s operational segments and also serves on the boards of SCI Bharat IFSC Ltd and Sethusamudram Corporation Ltd, besides being Vice Chairman of the Narottam Morarje Institute of Shipping, Mumbai.
