The Quality Circle (QC) teams of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) exhibited excellent performance in the 16th Chapter Convention on Quality Concepts organized on 13th July, 2025 by the Quality Circle Forum of India (QCFI), Bhilai Chapter at SAIL, Bhilai Steel Plant. Six QC teams of RSP won Gold Awards in the competition while one team won Silver Award. The ‘Utkarsh’ QC team of Blast Furnaces of RSP was adjudged the Runners up in the convention. Mr. K K Singh, Director (Personnel), SAIL graced the Award Ceremony as the Chief Guest and presented awards to the teams. Mr. G P Singh, Vice President, QCFI, Bhilai Chapter and Senior Officers of different units of SAIL were present on the occasion. Mr. Abakash Behera, GM (Safety Engineering Department) led the RSP teams in the event.
Mr. K K Singh appreciated the efforts of RSP in the convention and encouraged more future participation.
The RSP QC teams that won the Gold Award included ‘Utkarsh’ of Blast Furnaces, ‘Sambhab’ and ‘Tejas’ of New Plate Mill, ‘Suraksha Prahari’ of New Plate Mill, ‘Pragati’ of Instrumentation & Automation and ‘Suraksha Setu’ of Sinter Plant-I while ‘Pinnacle’ of RMHP won the Silver Award. It is noteworthy that 99 teams from different organizations including all the units of SAIL participated in the convention.
