Aashirwad Swain, son of Mrs. Lily Swain and Mr. Bikram Kumar Swain, Junior Engineer, Shops Fabrication Shop, RSP has been selected in the East Zone team to play in the prestigious Duleep Trophy tournament. Aashirwad, the talented wicketkeeper batsman replaces star Indian cricketer Ishan Kishan who has been ruled out due to injury. Notably, East Zone will meet North Zone on 28th August to start its campaign.
It is noteworthy that the cricketing prodigy who started his cricketing journey from Ispat Stadium, Sector-6 has so far played 11 first class matches. He has captained the Odisha Under-19 Cricket team in Cooch Behar Trophy and Vinoo Mankad trophy. The budding young talent of SAIL family had made national debut in the Under-16 Vijay Merchant Trophy in 2019. Known for his agility and dexterity behind the stumps as a wicket keeper, he also opens the innings.
