In a significant move to bolster renewable energy integration, the Prime Minister dedicated two major transmission schemes implemented by POWERGRID in Gujarat, amounting to approximately Rs. 1600 crore. These projects include the Transmission Network Expansion in Gujarat, aimed at facilitating the integration of renewable energy (RE) projects from the Khavda potential RE zone, and the establishment of Khavda Pooling Station-3 (KPS3) within the Khavda RE Park.
The newly inaugurated transmission schemes are designed to efficiently evacuate renewable power generated in the Khavda region to Gujarat and other Western Region constituents, enhancing power supply stability and supporting India’s clean energy goals. These initiatives are expected to accelerate the development of renewable energy in the region, fostering sustainable growth and energy security.
