PM Modi Inaugurates India Mobile Congress 2025, Calls Digital Connectivity Integral to Every Indian’s Life
Prime Minister Narendra Modi inaugurated the ninth edition of the India Mobile Congress 2025, Asia’s largest telecom, media, and technology event, at Yashobhoomi, New Delhi. Addressing the gathering, he said India’s success in the telecom sector reflects the strength of the Aatmanirbhar Bharat vision, noting that the country, which once struggled with 2G, now has 5G coverage in nearly every district. He highlighted the launch of the Made in India 4G Stack as a major indigenous achievement and described India as a growing platform for innovation, investment, and technological progress, emphasizing that digital connectivity is no longer a privilege but an integral part of every Indian’s life.
Communications Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia underscored India’s emergence as the digital flagbearer of the world, noting that the telecom revolution is built on Democracy, Demography, Digital First, and Delivery. He highlighted that 99.9 per cent of districts are now 5G-enabled and that India’s Digital Public Infrastructure model is being considered by 20 countries. The four-day event, themed *Innovate to Transform*, brings together over 400 companies and 1.5 lakh visitors from 150 countries, showcasing advancements in Optical Communications, Semiconductors in Telecom, Quantum Communications, and 6G, reflecting India’s strategic priorities in next-generation connectivity.
