Bengaluru, 15th December 2025: The inaugural edition of the Chennai Navy Half Marathon 2025, with Bank of Baroda as the Title Sponsor, made a grand debut on Sunday, December 14, 2025, witnessing the enthusiastic participation of over 8,000 runners. The event was flagged off from INS Adyar by Dr. Debadatta Chand, Managing Director & CEO, Bank of Baroda, along with Rear Admiral Satish Shenai, NM, Flag Officer Commanding Tamil Nadu & Puducherry Naval Area (FOTNA) and Shri M. Annadurai, Executive Director & State Head for Tamil Nadu and Puducherry, Indian Oil Corporation.
The event aims to promote health & fitness, while also championing important social causes such as gender equality, inclusivity and Nari Adishakti; environmental sustainability; and a drug-free India.
Shri T N Suresh, General Manager & Zonal Head – Chennai Zone, Bank of Baroda, Shri T.M.L Balaji, General Manager and Cluster Head-Mid Corporate Cluster South, Bank of Baroda and Additional Director General Donny Michael, PTM, TM, Coast Guard Commander (Eastern Seaboard), Indian Coast Guard were also present during the event.
The event featured three race categories – the 21.1 km Half Marathon, the 10 km Run, and the 5 km Fun Run. Demonstrating strong employee engagement, ~600 Bank of Baroda employees also participated in the event.
