RANCHI. The Chief Minister of Jharkhand appreciated NTPC’s contribution to
nation building and the power sector, highlighting his forward-looking vision for
infrastructure development, promotion of local enterprises, and generation of direct
and indirect employment. He emphasized inclusive skill development with a special
focus on power-sector–specific technical skills, girls’ empowerment initiatives, and
confidence-building measures for project-affected families. Sustained efforts in
health and education were also underscored as shared priorities, along with the
State Government’s continued support for infrastructure development, shared value
creation, and sustainable, inclusive growth in Jharkhand.
Recently, a review meeting was held with the Chief Minister, Shri Hemant Soren Ji,
to assess the progress of Patratu Vidyut Utpadan Nigam Limited (PVUNL). During
the meeting, appreciation was conveyed for the State Government’s consistent
support, and key milestones were highlighted, including the successful Commercial
Operation Date of Unit-1, marking a significant step toward power self-sufficiency
for Jharkhand. Upcoming targets for Units 2 and 3 were also shared, along with
discussions on strategic initiatives at the Patratu Power Station and the Banhardih
Coal Mining Project, both of which are vital for strengthening energy security and
fostering long-term industrial growth in the region.
