NTPC Bongaigaon celebrated the 79th Independence Day with great enthusiasm, echoing the spirit of “Har Ghar Tiranga” at the Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose Stadium of the 750 MW power station. The festivities began with Shri Arnab Maitra, Business Unit Head, hoisting the National Flag, followed by a parade inspection by the Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) and DGR Security Services. In his speech, Shri Maitra highlighted the station’s consistent achievements in Operations and Maintenance, including high plant availability, a healthy Plant Load Factor (PLF), the longest continuous operation of Unit-2 since inception, uninterrupted coal supplies, and record ash utilisation. He commended the collective efforts of employees, departments, and partners, urging them to continue embracing best practices, innovation, and CSR initiatives.
The celebration featured an engaging cultural program by schoolchildren from Ankur Tiny Tots, Bal Bhawan, and Notre Dame Academy, who performed songs, dances, and skits celebrating India’s unity in diversity. The event also included the release of tri-colour balloons by Shri Maitra and senior officials, symbolising freedom and hope. Additionally, awards such as the HOP Meritorious Awards, Health Champion Awards (2024–25), and recognitions under the Aawahan Policy were presented to deserving employees.
