NTPC Bongaigaon celebrated its 20th Raising Day at its plant premises. Shri Arnab Maitra, Head of the project , NTPC Bongaigaon, hoisted the NTPC flag at the administrative building premises, followed by NTPC Geet and cake cutting. Balloons of NTPC Colour were released by Shri Maitra in the presence of other dignitaries, CISF, departmental heads, and employees from various departments and unions.
In his address to the employees, Shri Maitra highlighted the achievements of NTPC Bongaigaon since its inception. As of January 14th, 2025, the station has generated an impressive 3848.64 million units of energy with a Plant Load Factor (PLF) of 73.98% and a Declared Capacity (DC) of 93.34%. The station has maintained critical parameters like Auxiliary Power Consumption (APC) and specific oil consumption within acceptable limits, alongside a specific water consumption of 2.55 litres per kilowatt-hour (KWh). Shri Maitra also appreciated the fact that NTPC Bongaigaon currently holds the 4th position in the Safety Evaluation Matrix (SEM) and Performance Evaluation Matrix (PEM) rankings across NTPC.
Shri Maitra emphasized the commitment of the power station towards society, environment, and nearby stakeholders. He urged all to work, think, and strategize on projecting NTPC Bongaigaon as a professionally driven and value-based organization. The occasion also saw the presentation of the Greentech Safety Award to Shri Maitra for Excellence in Safety by the NTPC Safety Department. Additionally, as part of Corporate Social Responsibility, NTPC Bongaigaon CSR wing distributed more than 100 mosquito nets to housekeeping staff and drivers working in the plant to combat Malaria in the area.
