The upcoming ‘Noida International Airport’ in Uttar Pradesh, India, is set to become not only the largest airport in India but also in Asia. The airport, located near Jewar, aims to relieve the congestion at the Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi and serve the National Capital Region (NCR).
Initially, the airport will handle 12 million passengers per year, but it has the capacity to expand and accommodate up to 120 million passengers annually. The expansive design of the airport, spread over 1300 hectares of land, is inspired by India’s rich cultural heritage.
The Noida International Airport is expected to witness a significant influx of 5 million passengers on its opening day, slated for October 1, 2024.
