FODDER SCAM: RJD Supremo termed for jail sentence

Lalu Jail

Rashtriya Janata Dal (RJD) chief Lalu Prasad Yadav and 15 others were convicted in fodder scam case under fraudulent which withdrawal of Rs 89.27 lakh from Deoghar treasury 21 years ago. A Jharkhand court stated that Yadav will receive his quantum of sentence on Thursday and he was brought from Ranchi's Birsa Munda Central Jail to the court for sentencing in a Fodder Scam case.
The court postponed the sentence because no lawyer would be present for arguments as they were busy in condolence meet which held by the bar association. The case would be sentenced today rather then yesterday.

Lalu Prasad took a dig via tweet on the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), accusing that the party get engaged in “dirty politics”. "To hide its failures, false rhetoric and to get votes, the BJP uses every dirty immoral trick in politics to change the public perception of its opponents," he said.

Lawyers told that Mr. Yadav has been termed jail for three to Five years. The veteran politician's lawyer said as he is 70 years old so he will press for minimum punishment today. "Lalu is 70 years old and suffering from many diseases. We will seek minimum punishment for him," he added.

Lalu is also facing trial in three more cases relating to the fodder scam.
