Ispat General Hospital (IGH) of SAIL, RSP has introduced a new pharmacy facility dedicated for availability of Not Available (NA) Drugs. Dr. Jayanta Acharya, CMO In-charge (M&HS) and Dr. P K Mohapatra, CMO (M&HS) inaugurated the Local Purchase counter in the Medicine Distribution Block on 17th July. Present on the occasion were other Senior Doctors, Senior Officers, Nurses and staff of IGH. To mark the occasion, several employees with NA Drug certifications utilized the new facility.
With the introduction of this Local Purchase Counter facility, the NA Drug certification can now be obtained from all the six medicine disbursement counters along with three indoor dispensary counters running presently at IGH. The counter will be operating round the clock i.e 24×7. The LP counter will be run by Messrs Bharat Pharmaceutical, Rourkela.
The inauguration programme was coordinated by Dr. B K Naik, Additional CMO (M&HS-Stores) with the support of Ms. Basanti Mallick, Senior Manager (M&HS—Dispensary), Mr. A K Sethy, Senior Manager (M&HS), Mr. S K Bera, Senior Manager (MM-Purchase – IGH) and Mr. P K Baral, Deputy Manager (M&HS- Stores).
Earlier, there was only one counter to certify the Not Available drugs. The employees after obtaining the certification used to buy the medicines from outside and later submit the bill to Finance Department for reimbursement. The new LP counter has simplified the process, allowing employees to present their NA certified prescriptions at the counter and receive their medications directly, eliminating the need for external procurement and bill submission. The system will automatically handle the financial adjustments, streamlining the entire process.
