NEW DELHI. The two-day National Meet of the Forum of Women in Public Sector (WIPS), held under the aegis of the Standing Conference of Public Enterprises (SCOPE), was inaugurated in Mumbai on the theme “HER ERA – NOW & BEYOND.” The event was graced by Chief Guest Shri Atul Sobti, Director General, SCOPE and Member, Governing Body, ILO, along with Guest of Honour Ms. Shirin Lokhande, Joint Labour Commissioner, Maharashtra, in the presence of Smt. Asha Ramamurthy, President, WIPS, and other office bearers. Bringing together more than 600 participants from across the country, the meet recognized outstanding women professionals from various Public Sector Enterprises (PSEs) with excellence awards and highlighted the vital role of women in shaping the evolving global economy.
Speakers at the event emphasized the importance of acknowledging women’s potential and strengthening their leadership in both present and future growth trajectories. WIPS has grown into the largest network of women in the organized sector in India, with over 16,000 members. SCOPE continues to advance women empowerment initiatives within PSEs, focusing on leadership development, health and well-being, capacity building and overall professional growth, reinforcing its commitment to inclusive and equitable workplace practices.
