17705 creative suggestions were given by the employees of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) under the Srujani Creativity Scheme so as to improve the performance of the Plant on various fronts during the Financial Year 2023-24, . Out of these, 11,727 suggestions have been awarded and 8950 suggestions have already been implemented.
Cash awards of Rs. 23,74,300/- along with certificates have been given to the employees for the implemented suggestions. It is worth mentioning here that RSP has accrued onetime benefit to the tune of Rs. 46.64 Crores and recurring benefit of about Rs. 43.87 Crores by implementing the suggestions, apart from the huge intangible benefits.
Notably, Srujani creative scheme encourages wider participation and contribution of employees through creative ideas on every area of operation of the Plant like, Safety, Environment, Housekeeping, Quality, Packaging, Services, Operating and Maintenance practices, Better utilization & Yields, Systems and
Methods etc. It also takes into account Conservation of Energy, Power, Raw materials, Oils & Lubricants etc and Cost Reduction and Recycling/ Utilisation of Wastes or any new idea for improvement relating to one’s own area of work.
