Let there be Serious Concern about Child Education: Monalisa Parida
Monalisa Parida is a young writer and teacher from Odhisa. She is known for her poetry works.
In an exclusive interview with the Newsmantra she talks to Rameez Makhdoomi.
Q. Tell usa bit about your childhood days?
A. We are from a poor family. My parents are religious type. We participate in all village religious functions. I am the eldest among 3 sisters. My parents have no regrets for raising only daughters without a son. My father has struggled hard to give schooling, clothings and food on the table and my mother has been a strong support to our father for taking care of three daughters.
Q. A bit on your academic journey ?
A. My schooling started in my village school and completed my college graduation in Kendrapada.
Q. Your role models?
A. My role models are my parents, teachers, friends etc.
Q. A bit about your literary journey?
A. During my PG studies, I found interest in poems as I found it as the best way to express my thoughts in a few lines and stanzas.
Q. Your current assignments?
A. I have written and published  books. I am compiling poems for a new book.
Q. How do you see new writers coming up in Odisha?
 Due to digitisation and ease of publication there is a big scope for writers. Though publishers in Kolkata are cheaper but publishers within Odisha are also giving high quality printed books.
Q. Your favourite authors ?
A. John Donne, William Wordsworth, Robert Frost etc.
Q. How did you see scope of writing in India?
A. Due to large scale social media platforms and people have interest to read on computers, tabs amd smart phones, writers have a wide scope to write on various issues, types, genres, themes and interest.
Q. Your message ?
A. Let there be a serious concern about child education, especially girls and employment of all educated and illiterate youths so that future population will be of good quality and law and order remains of the highest standard.
