Leadership and Management Productivity Workshop at SAIL RSP

Lamp, the Leadership and Management Productivity Workshop for senior executives of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant commenced at L&D Centre on 20th February, 2025. Mr. B R Palai, ED (Works) graced the inaugural function as Chief Guest. Mr. Anil Kumar, ED (MM), Mr. M P Singh, ED (Mines), Mr. S Pal Chowdhury, ED (Projects), and Dr. Shoeb Ahmed, Former Director, SAIL were the guests of honour. Present on the occasion were Mr. R L Joseph and Mr. A Joseph, the faculty members from M/s Impetus Exim Pvt. Ltd., CGMs and other senior officers of L&D Department. In all 25 senior executives are attending the three-day programme.

Mr. Palai said that every organization thrives on the decision of its leaders. “The LAMP workshop will illuminate the paths of our future leaders and help them navigate the challenges. People are our greatest assets and if they develop, RSP develops” he added.  Mr. Palai also encouraged all to make the best use of the opportunity to come out as a better leader after the program.

Mr. Anil Kumar appreciated the curriculum of the workshop and termed it as a well balanced and practical approach. He also said that our senior executives are already the best ones and it will be challenging for the faculty team to bring out the best from the bests.

Mr. M P Singh exhorted the attending participants to make the workshop more interactive to get the best insights from rich experience of Dr. Shoeb Ahmed. The aim of such initiatives should be to make the organization number one in every aspect, he added in his address.

Highlighting the importance of leadership and management, Mr. Pal Chowdhury said that both are complimentary and their impacts are huge for the development of an organization.

Dr. Shoeb Ahmed summarized the key takeaways of the workshop and highlights of the three day programme in his address. He assured that the learning from real life experiences as a current leader will help develop a better future leader.

At the outset, the program started with lighting of ceremonial lamp and welcome address by Mr. P K Sahoo, CGM (HR-L&D). The programme was coordinated by Ms. Chaitali Das, GM (L&D).

The three days programme aims at helping the executives in leadership position to lead up, down and across the team by developing a better self understanding and skills to lead others with authenticity.

Mr. K K Jaiswal, DGM and Mr. S K Sukula, Deputy Manager both from (HR-L&D) facilitated the inaugural ceremony.
