First-ever alumni meet of professionals pursuing MBA held at IIM Nagpur
Nagpur, January 18, 2026: “Students who pursue an MBA while managing demanding professional responsibilities are the brand ambassadors of the institute. Through their work across industries, organisations, and social sectors, Executive MBA alumni are strengthening the national presence of IIM Nagpur,” said Dr Bhimaraya Metri, Director, Indian Institute of Management Nagpur.

He was speaking at SAMAGAM 2026, the first alumni meet of the Executive MBA programme of IIM Nagpur, recently held on campus. The event marked a key milestone for the Executive MBA programme, reflecting its growing alumni base and its emergence as a well-established offering in executive education.
The Executive MBA programme of IIM Nagpur is specially designed for working professionals, senior executives, and officers who wish to earn a management degree without interrupting their careers. The programme is offered at both Nagpur and Pune centres and is known for its industry-oriented curriculum, hybrid learning format, and strong faculty engagement, making it one of the most preferred Executive MBA programmes among working professionals.

Highlighting the broader national context, Dr Metri said, “India is currently on a strong growth trajectory. The coming decade will be transformative not only for the country but also for institutions like IIM Nagpur that are committed to developing capable and responsible leaders.”

“IIM Nagpur has received leading national rankings in Executive Education through government and private surveys. In less than a decade, the institute has built a distinct identity in this space, surpassing several older institutions,” Prof Singh said.
The two-day alumni meet witnessed active participation from the institute’s senior leadership, including Prof Prashant Gupta, Dean (Faculty, Academics and Alumni Affairs); Prof Sujit Kumar Sharma, Dean (Research and PhD); Prof Alok Kumar Singh, Dean (Executive Education); Prof Shailendra Nigam, Chairperson – Placements; and Prof Apoorv Khare, Chairperson – Executive MBA (Hybrid).

The event featured ice-breaking sessions, team-building activities, indoor and outdoor sports competitions, cultural performances, student-led presentations, a tree plantation drive, and networking dinners, offering participants opportunities to connect beyond academics.
