HR Transformation Workshop ‘SAIL Darpan’ Concludes at SAIL RSP

The two-and-half day HR Transformation Workshop ‘SAIL Darpan’ held at the Learning and Development Department of SAIL, Rourkela Steel Plant (RSP) concluded on 31st July, 2025 with an insightful final session. The concluding day featured structured presentations made by the participants, who were grouped into teams of two, representing the RSP Taskforce. The teams presented their findings, recommendations and actionable strategies before a panel comprising Mr. Tarun Misra, ED (HR), Mr. Biswaranjan Palai, ED (Works) and Mr. M.P. Singh, ED (Mines).

The presentations covered a wide range of topics namely —manpower optimisation, policy reform, job rotation frameworks, enhancing transparency, and aligning HR practices with SAIL’s Vision 2030. Each team brought practical, on-ground insights backed by analysis and benchmarking.

The inputs and presentations were closely reviewed and analysed by the SAIL Darpan Taskforce, led by experts from Boston Consulting Group (BCG), who provided feedback on the feasibility, impact and alignment of the proposals with strategic HR goals.

As emphasised throughout the sessions, the ideas generated during these three days will act as catalysts for policy improvements, employee productivity enhancement, and future-ready HR systems at RSP. The SAIL Darpan initiative has not only provided a platform for critical introspection but also laid the groundwork for actionable reforms to support the next phase of growth and technological evolution at RSP.

The workshop was conducted under the guidance of Mr. S Badpanda, GM (HR-OD, TA &G) and Ms. Simpi Patel, Deputy Manager (HR-OD).
