GAIL Organises Capacity Building Workshop for CVOs to Strengthen Vigilance Practices

NEW DELHI. Under the auspices of the Central Vigilance Commission (CVC), GAIL (India) Limited organized a comprehensive Capacity-Building Workshop for Chief Vigilance Officers (CVOs) and Vigilance executives at its Corporate Office in New Delhi on 17th September 2025. This initiative is part of a broader three-month Preventive Vigilance Campaign aimed at promoting transparency, accountability, and ethical governance across the organization. The workshop focused on enhancing the understanding of the Lokpal framework, its jurisdiction, and the importance of digital transformation in reinforcing vigilance functions through GAIL’s Vigilance Portal.

During the session, participants engaged in discussions on their roles and responsibilities in fostering integrity and preventing corruption, with special emphasis on best practices for handling complaints under the Lokpal Act. The workshop also highlighted the significance of digitization in strengthening vigilance processes, sharing insights into how GAIL’s Vigilance Portal can facilitate more efficient and transparent operations. Shri Alok Kumar Mishra, Executive Director, Vigilance (Engg), Railway Board, delivered an insightful keynote address on “Lokpal Cases,” enriching the deliberations under the guidance of Shri D.K. Singh, Principal Executive Director, Railway Board.

Bringing together 18 CVOs from various Delhi-based organizations and Vigilance officials from GAIL’s NCR offices, the workshop exemplified GAIL’s commitment to making vigilance preventive, proactive, and participative. The event reinforced the collective resolve to uphold integrity and foster a culture of transparency, aligning with the broader objectives of the Central Vigilance Commission’s campaign.
