Bollywood diva, Kangana Ranaut’s upcoming movie was originally scheduled to be released on for a 27thApril but now jumped to 3rd August so that the makers can use the month in which India celebrates its independence, as per DNA reports.
The shooting of the movie is still underway in Rajasthan. Despite reports of the film being delayed due to heavy VFX, a close source updated to the publication.
According to Kangana’s Bollywood career, she has been picking up challenging roles and this time she has chosen to work on a Rani Lakshmibai based movie which is a huge prominent figure in the Indian modern history.
Being seen in Simran in her last movie, she is playing the titular role while Atul Kulkarni will be seen as Tatya Tope.
The movie is directed by Krish, the film is currently in hot waters because of opposition from the Sarva Brahman Mahasabha. The group alleges that the film distorts history and depicts a love affair between the warrior queen and a britisher.
In response to all the allegations, Kamal Jain, producer of the film said, "As responsible filmmakers, we have taken complete care while portraying Rani Lakshmibai's character and have consulted historians and scholars. Rani Laxmibai was a freedom fighter and one of the most respected leaders our country has come across. She is a symbol of valour and the film's story depicts the same."
