NEW DELHI. Dr. Dulal Halder has assumed charge as Director (Operations) of ONGC Videsh Limited (OVL), India’s largest international upstream oil and gas company with operations across 15 countries. With over three decades of rich experience in domestic and international upstream operations, business development, mergers and acquisitions, project execution, and corporate strategy, his appointment is expected to further strengthen OVL’s global operations and long-term strategic growth initiatives.
Dr. Halder began his career with Oil and Natural Gas Corporation (ONGC) as a Production Engineer at the Mumbai High offshore asset, where he played a key role in the first redevelopment plan of Mumbai High North and South, including feasibility studies and timely investment approvals. In 2001, he was selected to support ONGC Videsh’s international expansion, during which the company’s overseas presence grew from a single exploration block in Vietnam to a diversified portfolio of 35 international projects, with overseas production reaching 14.98 million metric tonnes by 2020. He has also undergone advanced management training at leading international institutions, and his deep technical expertise and global leadership experience are expected to significantly enhance ONGC Videsh’s operational excellence and international energy footprint.
