VED Economic Development Council is holding a felicitation programme for Dr. Brijesh Dixit Ex-Managing Director, on Friday, 2nd June 2023,at Nagpur. Chitnavis Centre. Dr. Dixit retired recently as Managing Director, Nagpur/Maharashtra Metro Rail Corporation Ltd.
The Metro found a place of honour in the Guinness Book of World Records due to the construction of the longest double-decker viaduct (metro), which is 3,140 meters (3.14km) achieved by the Wardha Road.
Dr Brijesh Dixit has been an acclaimed Railway Administrator and an eminent and efficient infrastructure builder, and an urban transport professional. Associated with Indian Railways for over 30 years, including association with Mumbai suburban and urban rail transport for over 15 years, and as DRM Nagpur with the Central Railways at various levels covering planning, designing, constructing and maintaining large-scale rail infrastructures & operation of services and administration of institutions on both Western and Central Railways.
In Nagpur, Dixit implemented this Rs. 8680 Crs. Nagpur Metro Rail project comprising 42 stations over a route length of 41.7 kms and Rs. 11420 Crs. He gifted this Mass Rapid Transit system to the city of Nagpur, which is world-class, safe, comfortable, accessible, energy-efficient and environmentally friendly. The Nagpur Metro will be extended to satellite cities like Kanhan, Hingana and Butibori in future phases.
