India’s coal sector remains a linchpin in meeting the nation’s energy demands, boasting a commendable production of 900 MT by March 6, 2024, with projections anticipating over 1BT this fiscal year. Spearheaded by key Public Sector Undertakings like Coal India Limited and NLC India Limited, the sector employs 369,053, including 128,236 contractual workers. Noteworthy recruitment efforts, like the Mission Mode Recruitment, have added 5,711 and 661 personnel to Coal India and NLC India, respectively, in the current fiscal year.
