Building Collapsed in Ghatkopar: Man lost his wife, 3- month old daughter brutally injured

The Tak family had removed into their dream home only one-and-a-half month ago in the ill fated Siddhi Sai building, but Tuesday was a complete nightmare for them the owner of the home and the breadwinner Lalit Tak, 38, and his son Virat of 6 years old are currently the only survivors from the family.

His wife Amrita and their-month-old daughter Veronica were found dead in the debris. His mother Pramila, 63 years old is still missing.The family was residing in one room kitchen flat on the third floor of the building. Lalit works at a cloth market and owns another tenement in Anandibhai Chawl, located behind the collapsed building.

PM Modi reviews relief operations in flood-affected areas of Gujarat; announces an immediate assistance of Rs 500 cr

Prime Minister Narendra Modi did an aerial survey and took stock of the situation in flood-affected areas of Gujarat. The Prime Minister reviewed the relief operations yesterday at a high level meeting which was attended by state's Chief Minister Vijay Rupani and other senior ministers and officials.

During the meeting, the Prime Minister was given an overview of the extent of damage caused by floods and the relief operations being undertaken. Modi instructed all the agencies involved in relief operations to put in their best possible effort.

A four-storey building collapsed in Mumbai, 12 dead, many people are stranded

The collapse of a four-storey building in Ghatkopar, in Mumbai, has created panic in the entire premises. In this painful tragedy, 12 people including a three-year-old child have died. People are still buried under debris; the number of dead can increase. Rescue work continues on the spot. The injured have been admitted to the hospital. So far 13 people have been safely pulled out of the debris.

A total of 12 families were living in this building. According to information given by citizens, this incident has happened around 10 am to 10.30 am. The building first started shaking and after the building collapsed.

Heavy rain lashes most parts of Odisha; flood alert issued in 6 districts

Heavy rain played spoilsport on Sunday as it lashed most parts of Odisha, especially the northern districts. Major rivers of Sundargarh district such as Koel, Sankh and Brahmani witnessed massive inflow of floodwater due to incessant rain, leaving residents at the riverside areas in panic. 

Bhubaneswar Met office has warned that many parts of the State are likely to experience heavy heavy rain for the next three days under the influence of an upper air cyclonic circulation over Gangetic West Bengal. It further said under its influence, rains or thundershowers are likely to occur at most places in the districts of north Odisha and many places in the south districts during in next 24 hours.
