In its first cabinet meeting, Yogi govt waves off farm loans

New Delhi: The Uttar Pradesh government on Tuesday decided to waive off farmer’s agricultural loan up to 1 lakh rupees. The decision was taken in the first cabinet meeting of the new government held in Lucknow. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath.

About 86 lakh small and marginal farmers of the state will benefit from govt's decision. About 36000 crore rupees of financial burden will be on the public exchequer to implement the decision of waiving off the agri-loans. BJP had promised in its SankalpPatra, released during assembly polls, waving off agri-loans.

New Delhi: Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Adityanath has said "misconceptions" have been created about him due to his saffron-clad look and promised to win hearts of "all sections" by spreading a new idiom of happiness and prosperity.He also said those who have been "insulting" India's traditions in the name of secularism are feeling threatened after he assumed office.

"Many misconceptions are created about me. Many people say I am saffron-clad, so there are many in the country who are averse to saffron," Adityanath said in an interview to RSS affiliated weekly 'Organiser'.He said, those who were insulting India's tradition and culture in the name of secularism and appeasement are feeling threatened after he took office.

UP meat traders meet Yogi, back move to ban illegal slaughterhouses

New Delhi: Over the closure of slaughterhouses in the state, Yogi Adityanath on Thursday met a delegation of meat traders.

In the Meeting Yogi Adityanath assured the meat traders that, “No wrong action will be taken against them and if someone takes any action against anyone on religious lines, he should be informed about that.” And after meeting Yogi, the meat traders extended their support to crackdown on illegal slaughterhouses.

Yogi government launches drive against illegal slaughter houses, several sealed

New Delhi: In Uttar Pradesh an intensive drive is being carried out across the state against slaughter houses and retail outlets being run illegally and in violation of the Municipal and Pollution control laws.

Actions have been taken against several slaughter houses and about two dozen have been sealed in Ghaziabad, Allahabad, Varanasi, Meerut and Hapur districts. In Ghaziabad district alone, 15 slaughter houses and retail shops have been raided and most of them were sealed by municipal authorities after ascertaining that those were being run without any licence and in violation of the municipal laws.
