Tracing Narratives- Exhibition on Indian Landscape Design commences at IHC


New Delhi: With much ardour and gusto, Future Institute hosting “Tracing Narratives”, a month long exhibition at Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi.

Tracing Narratives exhibition is an attempt to create a lens through which the spectators evaluated the world of landscape designs and its many connotations in the present and near future. It is an initiative of Landscape Environment Advancement Foundation (LEAF) Ahmedabad. LEAF is engaged in research and publication in the area of landscape design and environmental planning. It supports research programs of varying durations every year.

UGC declares 23 universities, 279 technical institutes fake, Delhi, UP lead the pack


New Delhi: The University Grants Commission (UGC) and All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) have declared a list of fake universities functional in India. Out of the 23 fake universities operating in India without UGC permit, Uttar Pradesh has nine unrecognized universities and Delhi has seven.

India has 279 such technical institutes (mainly in Uttar Pradesh, Telangana, West Bengal, Maharasthra) which do not have authority to provid degrees.

@New Delhi: A Parliamentary panel has asked the government to look at capping air ticket prices and control the "artificially created exorbitant prices in the Gulf sector". The suggestion comes amid persisting concerns among certain quarters that airlines are levying high airfares, especially during festival seasons. The Civil Aviation Ministry should consider fixing an upper limit for every sector, especially in the economy class of airfares, the panel has said.

"We are a developing country and many of the pricing mechanisms applicable to the developed countries may not suit the Indian people and Indian conditions," it added. The Department-related Parliamentary Standing Committee on Transport, Tourism and Culture has made the recommendation in its report tabled in Parliament last week.

@New Delhi: Though the Jat agitation planned in Delhi on Monday has been called off after a meeting between Haryana Chief Minister ManoharLal and Jat leaders, the whole NCR remained on a high alert.

Metro, bus and local train services were operating as usual after Jat protests were called off on Saturday evening. However, security arrangements remained as they are. Special Commissioner of Delhi Police DependraPathak said police was ready to handle any untoward incident. Pathaksaid, students who are appearing for the CBSE exams have been ensured easy access to their centres as transport plied as usual.

New Delhi: Union Minister for Railways Suresh Prabhu,on Monday, was presented with the first copy of ‘Journey Chronicles’ – a collection of memoirs from childhood to manhood on board the ubiquitous Indian Railway.The book was presented by noted journalist Sidharth Mishra, who is also the Editor of Camhor Series books and Brigadier Chander Singh Thapa.
