Rajouri: Soldier Killed In Ceasefire Violation

Pakistani Army had initiated unprovoked firing on Indian army posts in Sunderbani sector at around 6 pm. One soldier was killed and another injured as Pakistani troops violated the ceasefire agreement in Jammu’s Rajouri district in Friday evening.

A Jammu based prolocutor said the Pakistani Army had initiated unprovoked firing on Indian Army posts in Sunderbani sector ataound 6 pm. He said,”The Indian Army retaliated strongly and effectively”.

47 pilgrims died in 18 days: Amarnath board CEO

As many as 47 Amarnath pilgrims lost their lives due to a terror attack, accidents and health reasons in a span of 18 days. The CEO of the Shri Amarnathji Shrine Board (SASB) Umang Narula said, between 29th June and 16th July, 19 pilgrims died due to medical reasons and 20 were killed in accidents. On 10th July, eight pilgrims were killed in a terror attack on their bus. 

He further added that till Tuesday, the board had spent more that 14 Lakh 50 rupees on transportation and around 1 Crore 35 Lakh towards ex-gratia payments.

J&K: Three militants killed in encounter in Anantnag

In Jammu and Kashmir, three militants were killed by the security forces in an encounter in Anantnag district of south Kashmir yesterday.

Defence spokesman told that the encounter broke out at around 8 pm at Wanihama village of Anantnag district, following an anti-militancy operation launched by the security forces.He said three militants were killed in the ensuing gunbattle. Two among three killed are believed to be locals and third one a Pakistani.
